We will be owned by the Belgian in this transfer window... that is almost certain now.

As Lardi says in another thread

    Transfer window closes... 9 August
Loan window closes …… 31 August

As you say Royston, this takeover has reached farcical Carry On standards. It seems it's this week, it's next week it's imminent, it's a done deal. What one of the Carry On crew would play RD. I reckon Kenneth Williams. With Sid James playing Gerard Murphy. I am still hearing that they are still short of funds.
All the time this is going on our great club is suffering. No structure in place, not enough players, no CEO, no CFO, no permanent Manager.
We are a basket case. Lee Bowyer seems like the little boy with his finger in the dyke. Ooh ahh missus.

There’s a complete absence of care & affection for the club from anyone involved.

With the honourable exception of the 3 ex Directors who have resisted Duchatelet’s 25p in the pound blandishments.

Shame on you, Royston, for reminding us about the take-over. The W/C is doing a sterling job of taking our minds off it and then you start on about it. Heavy drinking is the only escape left.

Well, it’s always been in the back of my mind if only because for the last 42 seasons I haven’t supported a 5-a-side team. Yet...

Supporting Charlton feels a bit like being one of those ghouls who go along to have a look at a car crash. Next season doesn't bear thinking about. Seeing Magennis and Ajose up front will be like seeing Christopher Lee and Vincent Price in a Hammer House of Horror film.

Thanks for thinking of me AHLL,.
Been back in hospital for a few days, they have me on a new experimental drug, seems to help.
Sorry, I never did have a full list of names and addresses of ITTV members, that was a complete lie. That was in the eye oof the person who said it, on what they would do if the positions were reversed. People will believe what they want to believe, that's their problem not mine.

It is very worrying as to what our squad will look like come the end of August.

More threadbare than Mr van Gerwen's nut methinks.

Hope you are doing well Doug. You are indestructible. I could do with a few drugs, experimental or otherwise.

    The official claptrap is insulting...

    'We are ambitious'
'We are going for a top 2 finish'
'We only need 4 good signings'

'It is what it is just support the Club' <doh>

Sadly this picture sums up 'what will happen' more than any words could...

Actually we play QPR this Saturday at their training ground behind closed doors - but you can watch it on Valley Pass if you have that.
The Welling Utd game is no longer our curtain raiser. We are still playing them, but on Saturday 14th July now.

    As for the take-over?
Well, it will happen when it happens. Neither party seems interested in salvaging this season now, so Lee Bowyer has been left to sort it out himself.
I admire his tenacity and bullish attitude, but the task of avoiding a decline back to mid-table this coming season is beginning to look difficult.

Does anyone think that the Australians will be at the Welling pre season friendly in their Charlton scarves?

Their stunt at the Play Offs was a brilliant success, after all ...

When certain individuals keep saying its imminent and maybe next week, it's no wonder 39% are getting fed up of it all.

Earlier in this thread I made some comments about James Seed / Dutton which I accept were unfounded. I apologise to Dutton for the hurt caused by these remarks. Dutton and I have agreed to make a donation to charity / Charlton Upbeats as a sign that we have amicably put our differences behind us.

According to Colin it could be Wednesday. Yawn.

Hopefully positive news at last could be as early as Wed.<doh>

The only good news on Wednesday may be that England are in the WCF!!

Anything else is totally unfounded and complete garbage

I was told at the weekend from someone “ITK” that one thing that has delayed it is the sale of Konsa , the Aussies had asked that the sale price be adjusted to compensate the player sold
