But it’s true. That type of pure genius is few and far between in English football and Gazza definitely was the last. Even guys like Scholes and Lampard and Gerrard although more consistent in what they offered, did not offer than unmarkable game breaking genius from the middle of the park.

If you think Scholes couldn't offer the creativity of Modric or Eriksen ffs <doh> then you are sadly mistaken. As for Lampard and Gerrard <rofl> you'll have to start a separate thread for that.... don't think it's ever been done before <whistle>

Sometimes people confuse the odd bit of flash (great as it is) with genius <ok>

Scholes was def the closest. But the comparison I was making was to Gascoigne

My original reply to NSIS was about Modric and Eriksen. I don't think we need a midfielder who can go past players, we need someone who can see the through ball, or killer pass, someone with vision. Wazza could've done that.. even now <whistle>

I agree it’s something missing from the squad. Not sure I’d agree Rooney would be the solution.

Can't have more than one Harry in the squad mate, sorry. If his first name was Tinky he'd be in <ok>

I was joking about Rooney tbh. But a Scholes type rather than a Joe Cole type.

If you don't like Harry, use Forty - the number we're praying he takes up.

...is there an incorrect vowel in the second word?

Gascoigne was undoubtedly THAT man ..
.... what we might do if we had him now ...
