I've used that pink salt. It's alright actually and it's meant to be healthier.

Pepper has been used as a currency and often has held a value greater than gold.

A man with a pocketful of peppercorns is not a chap to be sneezed at.

I'd like to say I like both. But as this is the Internet and you have to take an extreme view. Death to the black pepperista.
    Bit of history for you.

Black pepper is the berry of the pepper plant, and white pepper is the seed. After they are sun-dried, black pepper retains its signature heat, but white pepper becomes milder. Black pepper also lasts longer than white pepper; but it's best to buy whole peppercorns rather than ready powders. Use black pepper in dishes that need a flavor boost. Use white pepper for lighter, earthier soups to add a mild heat.

So what you are saying, is that white pepper is the korma of the pepper family?

Scandanavianisium is in our midst, Kirkella is an old settlement, Kirk being Scandanavian for Church. We are brothers in arms.

I have never been peppered with so much information about pepper in my life, though I will take it with a pinch of salt as always.

Indeed we are. All the villages in the area ending in "...by", like Anlaby, Skidby and Willerby etc have Scandinavian roots. Ferriby of course dug up a Viking boat on the shores of the Humber not many years ago.
    We're a bastard race.

I believe they were sometime in the 800's. Colonized the area later to be know as 'The Danelaw " which included the region of York as well as other eastern "counties".
