Best young coach in Europe, no question.

However, I am beginning to wonder whether he is too stubborn to learn from his mistakes. Still never seems to be a Plan B?

There was a similar one after the last minute win against Tunisia and one of the players (forget who) confirmed that they did all see it. Proper Goosebumps.

A bunch of young lads nearly wrecked my bus home last night, and that was from celebrating.

Still can't handle our liquor in this country, unfortunately - especially in this heat. With any luck, if we do get knocked out it will piss down.

I think with coaches, they have more faith in their own systems than fans do...so they won't be willing to change after a few question marks. We don't have the variety of play in the squad to have a Plan B.

None of the midfielders come across as inspirational...hard working yes...but there no Modric, Eriksen types to bring in some skill and knowledge to inspire those around him. If anything that lack of quality in the middle will be what costs us. Like last night...no one to work between the lines and it showed when the game became tactical in ET and tired legs kicking in etc.

Gulp, can't believe I'm going to say this, but Shelvey would be useful in the squad now. Has an eye for a pass that the squad seem to lack.

Yeah, England need a Paul Scholes. Or even a David Beckham; someone who can turn a game upside down with one pass.

Most teams are probably crying out for a player like that, tbh.

Agree with most, mate, just a few I’d tinker with:

Walker - 5.5. Uncomfortable at CB and gave possession away in a dangerous area. Stones and Maguire seem to be carrying him. Appreciate the pace he has is a great asset but I’m starting to think Cahill will be a better choice for defensive solidity.

Young - 6. Not terrible but offers nothing down the left from an attacking standpoint.

Sterling - 4. Gave away possession **** knows how many times, poor link up play, gotta be dropped, England’s worst player of the tourney so far.

Would add a rating for Rose - 6.5. Thought he looked good in the time he had on the pitch. Drew some fouls down the left in dangerous areas and could’ve had a glory moment had his shot been a bit more accurate.

It's painful watching Henderson stood motionless in the middle of the pitch with the ball at his feet deliberating who and where to pass to. Way too static and one dimensional.

He's done ok and worked hard but there is zero speed of thought and creation there.

Young had a good game, no idea what you were watching.

You Spurs lads really, really, really want Rose to play instead don't you! <laugh>

It's all anyone can say of him, he has a great engine. Yeah, but no accelerator or steering wheel, so what's the point?

He had an OK game. Nothing spectacular. As I’ve said before, he slows the play down the left hand side because he’s always cutting in with his right. Baring in mind the formation we’re playing, we’re reliant on the FBs to create from wide and Young ain’t done that.

Rose came on yesterday and done everything you’d want from an attacking FB. It’s nothing to do with bias, I just want what’s best for England and I think Rose is a better choice than Young.

He's done better than I thought he would, Henderson, and he does look for the right pass.

But by the time he sees it, it's usually gone. That little bit of magic that you just can't teach.
