I think I'm starting to prefer international football over the past few years to club in a way. When you see how much it genuinely means to teams and you think about how some players stroll around doing **** all for clubs and stealing a wage then it makes me wonder what football is all about really.
It’s what happens when you get a good man like Southgate in charge, and you encourage young, hungry players to believe (also known as the Poch effect).
Certainly though it's not just England that's made me feel like that as I've always been quite passionate about them, it's just a general feeling. England are obviously helping though With Southgate as you probably know I've always really liked him and said I'd love him to be the one to bring relative success to us. One more win would certainly be in that category and its ****ing brilliant that he was in charge for a penalty shootout win. Regardless of what happens know we need to keep him for the next 3/4 tournaments as he's clearly got us going in the right direction.
And one of the reasons that he’s proving such a success (relatively) so far is that he’s come up through the ranks with the U20’s and U23’s. He knows the strength in depth available and is obviously the right man to steer the senior team for the next few years.

Yeah he's been involved with a lot of work at St George's park introducing a style of play and focusing more on technical ability etc too. He's been around a while but is his own man with fresh ideas. It's a no brainer.

Just got in from work. Watching the whole thing back on Motd - wouldn't be doing that if we'd lost. Missed most of the shoot out, but knew we'd won because it sounded like every pub in North London suddenly erupted in simultaneous ecstasy and relief. God knows what will happen if we go on to win the ****ing thing !
