Neither was properly violent, just trying to wind up the opponent. I think the ref did well on both counts.

Alli's clearly not fit and shouldn't have started. Needs to be subbed at half-time.
This is all due to Southgate leaving him on for an hour when he was hurt in the first game.

  3. Sorry DD - regardless of it not being 'properly violent', it was a deliberate head butt - nothing more or less. Red card!

    Poor by England MF.
This match IMHO will be decided by snide
antics (not) spotted by the match officials.

Same here. It wasn't the worst one in the history of football but it's a red card. No doubts.

I’m struggling to see what Sterling gives us being so central. Surely he’s suited to where Dele is and vice versa?

  7. Spoiler Alert!! Don't struggle mate - the answers 'zero' <laugh>

Edit- that applies to centrally or wide, or anywhere else come to that.

I think the rule is wrong. You can't class either the Barios or Ronaldo incident in the same viewpoint as classic Charlie Adam or Ryan Shawcross 'lets try and end someones career' tackles.

  10. I know what you mean, but it doesn't detract from the 'intent'. The law is clear, be that right or wrong.

I recall Huddlestone being sent off for 'handbags', a yellow would have been better.

  12. That decision was ridiculous, but it looks hopefully that was a new knock. He certainly hasn't looked 100% anyway - but that might improve if they save us all any more pain and pull Sterling!

Having seen it again, not in slow motion but in real time, I take back what I said, red card all day. I still think the rule should be changed though. The ref should have the option.

No, but that's why the really nasty ones normally get extra time on their bans.
Barrios is very lucky to still be on the pitch.

I don't work for them mate...I may be stupid....but not THAT stupid. <laugh>

think I mentioned that my school ain't nothing like that!

Agree with your point...would be a career killer so people would be wise to follow your advice...was a union rep for 20 plus years so I regularly ask myself ..."what would you say as a rep to some one who did this?" before I do stuff re work

Can’t Sterling be of some use and shoot these dirty Colombians with his tattoo?
