It was Japan mate, had Belgium not brought the grock on and gone long, they’d be out today and Martinez would have been looking for another job by the weekend. Fine lines and all that. What’s important is getting through. Each game as it comes.
That's why it's over 90 minutes and teams need to adapt and change to the occasion, Martinez did that to great effect. Compare this to Spain, who kept on with their tica taka and went out. The Manager failed to change the system and factor in Costa more, who was on very good form. That's why it's imperative that a team has a plan B when things don't go your way. Belgium is probably my favorites for the tournament now, they can play great football but also change it up and play more direct, but have the class of De Bruyn and Hazard to do that too.
The result matters, not the performance. Japan were amazing for 3/4 of the game, but couldn’t close the game out.
Japan were naive and should have slowed it down and defended more, but maximum respect for playing the way they did, which was working excellently up until the Belgium changes happened. It was a great game and will go down as an all-time classic. Better to go out on your sword than on a wimper.
I like Bobby, always comes across as a gentleman. But managing Belgium is a tough task, no ones been able to get the best out of them for ages. But so far they seem dangerous, but you're right, they do need to tighten up at the back.
They have the players to get to a final attacking wise like we had. But wining the tournament they probably need to be better at the back defence wise. Probably get undone in the final against brazil play acting not the football lol.
imo he should be retrospectively put on 2 yellows for each of last two games so he can't dive again or risk suspension
You probably don't need telling - but imo, if they don't play attractive football they can all **** off. Win or lose.

Don't agree with those four being very good. No one as stood out imo. Certainly no more than anyone did two years ago
nobody you mean Marc Wilmots whos an absolute clown when he had the golden generation. The man was playing 3 centre backs and an average rb in every back 4 with a midfield pairing for witsel and felleini the dumb *****. No wonder they were ****e
