After Neymar's pussy antics at the football world cup the big girls blouse should think himself lucky he wasn't a basketball player in either of these two teams at the basketball world cup.

    Proper violence.<yikes>

    So it’s England tonight.

After scraping through against a very average Tunisia in the 93rd minute, beating what was probably the worst team in the tournament who didn’t defend and then losing to Belgium’s B team....apparently football is coming home!

It didn’t take long for the entire nations expectations to be raised well beyond our means. Will we ever learn? <doh>

Ah well, if you can’t beat them....

    COME ON ENGLAND!!!

    Its only colombia.

Plus where is the fun in pissing everyone off all through when you can save it all for one big band right on the 92nd minute tonight when england lose :bandit:

No excuse tonight. none. will be down to the serial bottlers in lingard and sterling imo. if they don't press and play with intensity and take the risks england won't win.

    plus walker, stones, maguire....

have i annoyed engouh people yet.

    oh yeah harry kane..

i don't even need to say anything bad. just his name is annoying enough.

That's all we have to base our decision on whether we are good enough. I haven't seen anything in the England game to show we will win it and I'm not one to be taken in by simple media hysteria.

They have to do something like beating Colombia in good fashion before I can say they have a realistic chance of winning.

How we win isn’t important, it’s a knockout competition. All that matters is actually winning the tie, starting with tonight.

The draw has opened up for England in the most surreal manner, we’ll never have a better chance of making a WC final than this. Which probably automatically means that we’ll go out tonight lol.

Of course it matters how we win. If we were out played for most of the match and managed to win through an own goal, how would that make us a realistic team to win it? To win it you need to show that you have the necessary quality to beat the best sides. At the moment we don't have anything to go by.

    Nope.

How we play in one game doesn’t dictate how we play in the next, it’s a knockout competition all that matters is getting through.

Croatia were absolutely abysmal the other night, after looking good in the Group games, but it doesn’t matter as they found a way. Same goes for Belgium last night, they came within a whisker of humiliation but it doesn’t matter, they’re through, and that game will have zero bearing on the match against Brazil.

That's harsh to say Belgium came close to humiliation, Japan played very well and could have beaten a lot of teams last night, but Belgium showed the quality and class to come through a tough situation. Croatia have been by and large, playing very well throughout the tournament. They felt the pressure in their last game, but they still showed signs of class.

Of course it a knockout tournament and anything can happen, but there comes a time that you have to play really well to beat the best sides. Who knows, maybe England will do that. We will find out today what this England team is made of.

You don't have to have possession of the ball to play well mate. You're confusing playing and with playing attractive football <ok>

Sometimes there is an exception to the rule, and Greece was that. If i remember the tournament, a lot of the Euro sides weren't playing well, pretty much poorly and Greece managed to get through. This World Cup is difference with teams playing significantly better. As for Portugal, yes they weren't great but they are still a technically a very good team with the best player in world football.

Again, i need convincing on the pitch from England. As much as Kane gets taken the piss out of, he will be key to England's success.

Portugal was the better example for the conversation mate. They weren't playing well at all.

Who said that? For example Japan and Belgium were very effective on the ball going forward, which is why they created so many chances.

True they weren't playing well, but other teams weren't that great either. This World Cup we have Belgium, Brazil, France and Croatia who are very good, playing good football.
