Wondering if I should go to bed early tonight and get up at 2am to watch us. If I can find a bar open with it on.
Yes and they have some very good players!! If you read some of the comments by Southgate after our defeat by Belgium when he said that he rested so many players, to make sure that they'd be fit for the game against Colombia!!!!
I have not read through the last 20 or so comments so apologies if I go over "old" ground. Spain bored the arse off me last night, to the point where I had no motivation to watch extra time. They have some very highly talented players but the constant Tippy Tappy, sideways passing with bugger all penetration was just too much, and I was willing Russia to get to penalties and steal the game from under their noses - so that is me happy today As for England chances now, with so many "big guns" gone - I still fear a couple of teams in our half of the knock-out stage, namely Sweden and Croatia (Even Denmark). I think either one could "do us" on the right day, so any notion of walking in to the Final, for me at least, remains a long, long way off.
He also said they want to win every game, and it would be very dangerous take the game lightly and try and plan an outcome to finish second. Then when asked after the game "If you wanted to win the game, you would have brought on Harry Kane?", to which Southgate started his answer with "yes, of course..." Made me laugh.
No one watching? Probably out in sun or at work. For us retiries, watching Brazil only confirms their is no clear fav in this tournament. We really can go all the way
3 Mexican players have blonde hair. The commentator on ITV calls them the "Bleached Boys" Made me laugh
I've gone off the BBC for this - Dion Dublin - Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 live. No mention of the fact that he also played for NCFC!!!!
I wonder how many hours of this World Cup Neymar has spent on the floor screaming, pretending he has been touched by another human. Biggest Pussy I have ever seen. He's worse than Suarez. Always totally fine within seconds of getting up, despite stopping the game for 15 minutes while he does his acting practice of a china doll. The fact he can keep dragging himself up after what must be leg shattering shoulder brushes. And score a goal, and assist another, just shows how he must be the worlds best player right now. I'd still be in the hospital having a scan after the first light trip on him in the 4th minute, the pain on his face, and the noise. Poor man!
The thing is, all South Americans have it drilled into them at training. Instead of moaning about it, the authorities should be doing something about it. Then Raheem Stirling and Ashley Young would have to watch out.
VAR should be dishing out yellow cards for it. Neymar would be banned for the rest of the World Cup already!
Japan look so good on the ball. Technically, I thought they looked surprisingly great in the group stage. Tonight, they are doing it better. Mexico also looked like this today though, in the first half, and still went out.
