This is a rumour, so I thought that I'd put it on our rumour thread (thinking that this was what it was for)

I didn't state it as a fact that's definitely going to happen, or that I agreed about our relationship with 'United, so perhaps you shouldn't be so keen to 'shoot the messenger' :emoticon-0136-giggl

Pretty sure he's referring to the writer of the article being innacurate and not berrating you at all.

Unless there some white text or something that I missed.

Disco read it right Gordon. Wasn't shooting the messenger at all.

Its just a lazy-ass piece of journalism. I thought that's what I said.

They don't even know where the North East is. My brother moved to Aylesbury, and when explaining to his neighbour where he was from, the neighbour said "Oh yes, I've been to the North". Turned out he'd been to Birmingham once.

Yeah, there are a few like that. They can't comprehend that there's anything beyond Milton Keynes.

Rumours of a 9m fee agreed with St Etienne for Khazri. If that Euros I am happy. If it's pounds I'm extremely happy.

Let's hope those talks of Ndongs move to Torino back on materialise. 15m in the bank and about 80kpw extra off the wage bill

When I lived in Oxfordshire I lost count of the number of people who thought Newcastle/ Sunderland were on the north west coast , or “near Blackpool “. Most annoyingly , these individuals were the ones who would wish you to know how intelligently superior they thought they were

Exchange rate is neither here or there but I bet we still owe half of what we paid on him.

Clear that off and then we should still have £4m/£5m to use.

    https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...te-the-signings-of-midfielder-left-back-today

Barring any issues or delays it’s understood that Sunderland will complete the signings of two new players on Monday, and they’ll head out to join the rest of the squad in Portugal for pre-season training.

Sunderland have flown out to Portugal for a pre-season training camp - an ideal opportunity for new signings to bed into the squad, and a great opportunity for new manager Jack Ross to start implementing his methods upon his players.

So far only four newbies have arrived at the club - Jon McLaughlin, Alim Ozturk, Chris Maguire and Tom Flanagan - but they should be joined by a couple of new faces on Monday, with the club hoping to wrap up the signings of a midfielder and a left-back.

It’s no secret that the midfielder is Scottish international midfielder Dylan McGeouch. The club had hoped to have completed the signing by now, but the transfer was delayed over the weekend due to the player attending a family member’s wedding.

The move will be a bit of a coup for Jack Ross, with the player being in the SPFL Premiership Team of the Year and was voted as both the Hibs’ Player of the Year and their Player’s Player of the Year last season.

As noted earlier, we also understand that the club are hoping to unveil a left-back too.

The club had agreed a loan deal with Manchester United for Cameron Borthwick-Jackson but it’s thought that Jack Ross had another target in mind for that position, so we’ll have to wait and see whether the new manager got his man or whether the deal to sign Borthwick-Jackson goes ahead.

Although the club are hopeful of completing both transfers on Monday, if they are delayed then they will still be expected to sign in time to fly out to Portugal to meet up with their new team-mates.

Great news. What do you all think of the Maja and Asoro situation. A quick sit down chat and either they sign a new contract or out the door

They are into the last 12 months of contracts and so far have not signed new contracts. I think Asoro's agent is acting up a bit, but if they are not happy to sign, sell them.

Irrespective of their signing new contracts I'd keep both.

If they are sold it will be for peanuts.
Youngsters with only a limited number of first team games.
In a years time though, with games on their CV, they should be worth a lot more plus we will have had the benefit of the skills for little outlay.

I THINK that as out of contract youngsters the Club will be entitled to compensation from any Club who wants to sign them
IF they have a good season this might well be more than any current transfer, even if it goes to arbitration.

On a purely personal level, I'd love to watch their progress in our Team.

Sunderland set to sign former Manchester United & Wigan left back providing he passes a medical - once he’s signed he’ll join up with the rest of the squad in Portugal for pre-season training.
