Yeah I am picking on past crimes and he could be sorted now but I'd be a little worried that he's a bit big time charlie and it may go to his head after a big move.

The best way I could probably describe him from the games I saw last season is he’s basically Villa’s version of a Modric. Obviously nowhere near Modric’s quality and he very likely won’t ever be but he’s in that sort of mould with the way he can control a game. Time will only tell if he ever will be the player his early hype suggested but I’m pretty keen to see him join, though there’s a few sides interested I think so may depend on who offers him the better deal in terms of finances and game time.

Yeah it’ll definitely be a risk because of his past but our best transfers over the past 10 or so years have generally been young English players with potential, so hopefully he becomes another if he does join.

I can’t honestly see it happening. Bruce set Villa up around Grealish which would never happen at a club like Spurs. He’s not really a midfielder and he’s not a wide player so he needs a free role.

I’d like him to go somewhere like Brighton where he could make them less turgid.

I hope you do sign him and pay an absolute fortune, as for me he’s been hyped way beyond his actual ability.
Ignoring the fact that he’s a colossal bell end, his stats don’t back up the supposed fact that he’s real quality.
8 goals and 8 assists in 2 full seasons of Championship football.

His versatility is probably something Poch will like. Can seemingly play along the three roles behind the striker and he was deployed in the number 8 role for Villa towards the end of the season where he really shone, we’re likely going to be needing two CMs as Dembele is set to leave while the likes of Sissoko is ****ing **** and Winks ain’t ready to take a commanding role.

Stats can be deceiving, doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a bad player. Dembele’s goal and assist stats are shocking for us yet he’s been one of our best players since Poch came in. Likewise when Modric was here, barely racked up much but every Spurs fan knew he was our best player and one of the best in Europe.

FWIW, I ain’t expecting Grealish to be a world beater with us but I just think he could add some extra creativity and drive to the side. He probably has an eye on the Euro 2020 squad so whoever does end up getting him could see a young and talented player hungry to impress.

Modric is a completely different type of player though, you’re trying to compare apples and oranges. As I said I hope you sign him, and we can discuss his impact at a later date.

Seen Jack Grealish a few times and the figures being bandied are frankly daft based on what he has done to date ... we were apparently interested in him along with james Maddison at Norwich, who we have now signed for around £15 million - very happy that we went for the latter to be honest - I think Grealish does have potential but the over-hype is mammoth ...

Liverpool haven't won the league title since 89, we've got plenty of supporters to young to have seen it or weren't even born then, not much glory to hunt for them to be plastics.
Chelsea had gates of 15k in the 80's, why do you think the extra 35k started turning up?, It wasn't to see them win the mighty Full Members Cup or the 2nd division title.:emoticon-0136-giggl

Not doubting that ginge, but your fellow Chelsea supporter thinks the club have no "plastics"/gloryhunters, he's just wrong with his assumption because gloryhunters and lack of success are polar opposites and that's the case with LFC for years.<wah>

The place is full of them in reality, I'd be surprised if there was 50% of the die harders left going these days.

Liverpool are iconically timeless. Would continue to have a massive fanbase without success. Others, not so much. I think the plastic fan mentality is even more pronounced being in a non traditional football country/city like I’m in. I can tell you for sure I saw very few City or Chelsea shirts 15-20 years ago.

You will need to add strength in depth to that squad. This is not 1964 when a squad of 14 players is enough to challenge home and abroad for a whole season.
