I actually prefer the earlier games, when all teams are still full of hope, knowing that if they lose the first game they simply need to win their second. I kinda feel sad when teams are out as it means the tournament is progressing towards its conclusion. I love the festival feel when all teams are still alive.
You know what I know when he's on a wind up, and he has got to be over Ingerland hype, not being hype at all, he's as nutty as a fruit cake!........
Talking of nutters, these bloody uncouth Russians out here, make the Germans decidedly pleasant!!.......
VAR what a ****ing joke, clear penalty anywhere else on the field given, cant help but think it wasn't given because they are playing Russia.
And I remember someone on here saying it was good as it will mean getting the big decisions right and it didn't matter how long it takes. 100% got that wrong so what is the point. If it had been given Putin would have had them assassinated. spot on though Politics was in full flow there. Pathetic.
A total of 335 incidents were checked during the group stage - nearly seven per game - with 14 on-field reviews made by referees and three reviews made by the VAR team on factual decisions. Referees called 95% of incidents correctly without VAR, but the system - which is being used for the first time at a major international tournament at Russia 2018 - improved that success rate to 99.3%. "We have always said that VAR doesn't mean perfection - there could still be the wrong interpretation or a mistake - but I think you would agree that 99.3% is very close to perfection," added Collina.
