Aye, Ferguson went mad with the Sunderland jibes and lost it with the we loaned you players etc haha Never minded Villa and a lot of Irish internationals played for Villa.
Ok fair enough but let it go that was years ago and can I had add two of the greatest footballers to grace the pitch bowed out today,Messi and Ronaldo international stage that is
BTW Read Paul McGrath's autobiography and how Graham Taylor minded him, Taylor was old school like Robson but got chewed up by the press, Taylor was a good head and a pure football man with a lovely human touch.
Their sheet slogans were just well prepared banter. We need to stop wittering on about it ... But it's funny that they're near enough to being in the same boat as Sunderland. They think that they're massive. Closing some parts of their ground when they went down wasn't seen as an admission that their fans had simply stopped turning up. But their financial meltdown is something to enjoy rather than shout from the roof tops about.
Had the pleasure of meeting Graham Taylor on a train journey once. Sat opposite each other and had a huge natter about football in general. Came across as a real fan of the game who was lucky enough to be able to do what most of us only dream about
True - think you know what I mean however - press have ripped into every England manager i can remember. His club football record was fairly decent as I recall Genuine, nice bloke though
Aston Villa took a huge gamble by spending so much money on players / wages last summer and they've just fallen short. Steve Bruce must take his share of the blame as many of the players he brought in just haven't performed well enough. The real blame must be levelled at that Dr Xeo or whatever he's called. I don't care for Villa in any way but I'll always stop short of saying I want to see a football club go out of business. Let's just hope they hang around the lower leagues for a few years, learn some humility and get themselves back on an even footing.
I'm not sure those Villa youth players felt that about all the human touching he allowed to happen under his watch. You'd like to think he didn't know but rumours of him hushing them suggest he had some sort of knowledge of complaints.
