Really big for shirt sales in Korea to in truth. Very shrewd signing. Athletic and can spray the ball about. Question marks a out his ego and team ethic mind.

    Slanty eyed ar$e licking prick......

Newcastle United are up and running in the transfer market – after signing free agent Ki Sung-yueng.The midfielder, released by relegated Swansea City, yesterday signed a two-year deal at St James’s Park.

Rafa Benitez – who has been involved in a transfer budget stand-off with owner Mike Ashley – said it was an “easy decision” to sign the 29-year-old, who went to the World Cup with South Korea.

However, it is unclear whether Benitez and Ashley – who has been pushing his manager to sign a new deal – have agreed a budget for the rest of the club’s summer transfer business.

“I’m so pleased I can join the club,” said South Korea captain Ki, who has won 104 international caps.

I was always pleasantly surprised when I came to St James’s Park to play against Newcastle – there’s a great atmosphere and the passion from the fans is a great support to the players.

“Every time I came here to play against Newcastle, I felt real envy because of the fans.”

Ki – who had a loan spell at Sunderland earlier in his career – will add Premier League experience to Benitez’s squad.

Benitez said: “I’m pleased to welcome Ki to the club.

“He’s a player with lots of Premier League and international experience, and it was an easy decision to bring him here.

“He is the captain of his country, a good character, and he will be a good addition to the squad.”

Ki is the club’s second summer signing.

United signed goalkeeper Martin Dubravka – who spent the second half of last season on loan at St James’s Park – from Sparta Prague at the end of the season.

Ki’s arrival comes ahead of the anticipated departure of midfielder Mikel Merino, who has a release clause in his Newcastle contract.

The 22-year-old, signed last year from Borussia Dortmund, is expected to join Real Sociedad.

Isn't it more a case of Diame, Merino or Ki.

Merino's on his way, but Diame was on fire towards the end of the season and completely owned that position, if both Diame and Ki can be in the team somehow, we'd be very decent.

Colback doesn't have a chance in hell of playing for us again, and I'm pretty sure Hayden will be moved on in the summer, decent champ player, but not Prem standard.

Wouldn't take much notice of his comments about being envious of the atmosphere, he's not a native English speaker and all players come out with these kind of comments when they sign for a new club. Good signing for the Mags.

He's the player who clears all of the crosses that Yedlin lets into the box. NUFC were the 7th hardest team to score against last season, w/o seeing much of the ball - remarkable. Wish he was playing for our national team rather than NOT playing for yours.

He will mate, he is a very decent player to be fair. Him and Shelvey will be a strong partnership

I'm not sure it's as clear cut as that, as Rafa clearly likes Diame, and stuck with him when he was **** and gave him a chance to prove himself, which he did. After Diame became such a key player, I can't see the partnership with him and Shelvey being broken up, and can only see Ki becoming part of a midfield 3 with them 2.

I think Lascelles has shone since being made captain and would indeed be an excellent captain/ cb for a decent hard-working national team. He's unlikely to ever do much for England unless he moves to a top 4 team as he needs to feel an integral part of the system and for England as a squad player (in future) who gets parachuted in to replace others for bit parts in games he'll likely struggle. I simply cannot see him having much of an international career if he stays at Newcastle, which is a shame.
