Less than 36 hours to go now until the window slams shut. Looks like there could be some big moves in the Premier League, with Mr.Wenger in paticular set to be very busy today and tomorrow. Luka Modric, Yossi Benayoun, Scott Parker, Craig Bellamy, Mario Gotze, Mikel Arteta, Florent Malouda and Gary Cahill are all names likely to be strongly linked with moves on deadline day. They may well have gone in already. I was looking up Mannone the other day and according to the Arsenal OWS he has been included in their 25 man squad. I wouldn't bet my life on it though

They're being linked with any player with some sort of pedigree in Europe, the latest one I've heard is Clint Dempsey I see Wenger has just signed Per Mertasacker for £8m, good centre-half, but he's been available for that price all Summer. Why on Earth he's left it until 30th August is beyond me.
It's unbelievable. He's a highly intelligent man and his tactics, signings, etc used to be spot on, but he seems to have finally lost the plot. It's in the paper this morning about them wanting Alex, Benayoun and Malouda from Chelsea, plus Mertesacker. They aren't bad signings, but three are cast-offs from a supposed title-rival and the other, as you say, should have been signed a good 2-3 months ago.
I like Benayoun, but as I said in another thread, having him as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas AND Samir Nasri is absurd. Almost pitiful, even.
The goalkeeper we had on loan his trial ended yesterday, according to the fax he put on his website so should hear something soon

Is it too greedy of me to hope that we'll sign 2 players tomorrow? We need another centre back for cover, we can't go on with just 2 centre backs for much longer. Whilst I'm not so convinced about it, NP clearly wants another striker so I'd hope he gets his man.
I reckon there's a good chance of 2 players, even if the defender isn't Beye. To be honest I'd rather us sign a defender and leave it at that, I'm not that keen on the idea of Waghorn, I'd much rather see Simmo be given a real chance. A more direct, attacking game should suit him, which is what NP is supposedly changing to. Scratch that, we could see 3, what about the Egyptian keeper?
