This is where the serious stuff starts, Tuesday, somewhere in Moscow. Good that we will bring back our 'big guns'. Come on England
Oh, by the way fellas, it doesn't help that some of the Useless Germans have stated that they will now be supporting England in the tournament. Why do we want a useless bunch of no-hopers like that to follow us? Its almost as bad as having the Scots follow us
Don’t worry that’s never going to happen - they will already be buying Colombian flags and learning their National Anthem.
Tough game. Colombia have just got better and better. The only issue for them is they have based a lot of their attacking play going through Rodriguez. Even if declared fit I'm not sure he is fully fit. Who knows though, there could be little wrong with him and he could be raring to go. They have a lot of good players though. Sanchez, Arias, Mojica have all been good at the back. Mina has been a threat on set pieces but I still reckon he will give you something. Sanchez is doing a lot of covering and guiding him through games. Kane needs to be smart and isolate him because he will go to sleep at some stage. We are gonna have to get some blockers on the set pieces. The ****er attacks everything full tilt and he is difficult to stop because he is athletic. Obviously in attack Quintero, Rodriguez, Falcao, Cuadrado is quite a fearsome attack. England may very well get exposed but then better side than England have been by Colombia in recent times. They are a top side. I think their other weakness other than Mina is that central area of midfield. Sanchez, Uribe, Barrios, Abel Aguilar are all solid midfielders but they are not world beaters. If we can get control of the game and get Henderson releasing Lingard and Alli into space, I'd fancy us to cause plenty of problems. Quite evenly matched on paper but maybe they just shade it because Rodriguez. We need Kane at his very best. I see a high scoring 3-2 either way. I'll go with us because I want us to win!
Need to score early in this one and try and force them to throw players forwards as there defense is their weak link and if we can get Lingaard, Alli and Sterling (I'd still pick Rashford over him) running at them from deep we'll create them problems. Rodriguez being injured was just about the best result to come out of those final round of games for us and Falcao looks likes he's back playing at Chelsea, still Quintero and Cuardrado are no slobs so they will make chances against us.
If any of them have access to the internet, I'd be very surprised if they wanted us to do well. Now, I was pretty happy that they got knocked out, because that helps England's chances of getting further, but some of the celebrating was just so cringe. The Germans are generally a really nice bunch, far more loyal and likable than our close 'friends' the French. They are very similar to us, far more so than the Spanish......who we seem to think love us visiting their country........they don't BTW. Okay, so one crazy megalomaniac leader and a real nut job PM apart, they are a top country in Europe, that props up a lot of the european community. If they chose to get behind us, then we should feel privileged. After all, they have done more in four years than we have for 50!
Looking at the fifa rankings we are slightly above Colombia but below Switzerland. If they are anything to go by and also, taking into account the form of these sides during the World cup, we can expect two very tight games...or at least you'd imagine that. I think Harry Kane could be the difference again.
Anyone remember England 2-0 Colombia on 26th June 1998, the third group game at the World Cup? I'm going for this score again. Howaayyy England
Colombia looked poor in their last game. Regardless I expect them to raise their game and agree that we will need to play well to get through.
