Are you sure you are talking about Sebastian Vettel? I guess not.....

Cowboys: please name, with the exception of the unlucky error he made in Canada, a moment when Seb has properly mucked something up, and a proper mistake that has cost quite a few places too! It may just be me but i dont remember any!

P.S. Seb can overtake - at Hungary he overtook Alonso - Brundle quote "who is no slouch" - whilst on harder tyres to Alonso and when there tyres were about the same on wear levels! That argument just doesnt hold up any longer!

Muggins - the problem I have with people like you is that you don't know when to stop. Whenever someone even whispers the word Webber, you're on the attack. It's boring, it's immature and pathetic and quite frankly you need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror. GROW UP! WE GET IT - YOU DON'T LIKE WEBBER!

    Agree with the first one
Don't agree with the second one
    Agree with the third one
Don't agree with the fourth one
Don't agree with the last one.

Vettel is fast, don't get me wrong, but the best drivers on the grid are Alonso and Hamilton in my opinion.

vettel is on the verge of becoming the youngest ever double world champion.

he has raced in a competive car for 3 years and won 2 titles 66% win rate
hamilton has only won 1 in 5 years 20%
    alonso 2 in 5 40%

vettel is the best driverin f1 imo and even better than schumacher. he rarely makes mistakes and is the best qualifier i have ever seen. the thing is, he will only get better with more experience. he could dominate for years to come

alonso is the second best i reckon he has challenged for the title in 3 different cars and is the man to dethrone schumacher.

the likes of button and hamilton need to win at least 1 more title to be compared to alonso and vettel to prove it wasnt just a 1 off.

i find it interesting how people can say hamilton is one of the best because he hasnt even been the best driver for his team this year, he is only close to button on points due to the many mistakes mclaren have made with button.

i also rate rosberg and kubica high pity neither drive for good teams, massa and webber sould step aside and let them have a chance

Good overtake, but he had an advantage with the tyres.

Blistered tyres for Seb going on the outside, with Nico on worn tyres on the inside with a top straight line speed advanatge, harder than it makes out in my opinion.

Blistered tyres do not really have an effect on performance. I am not trying to take anything away from Vettel, but top line Mercedes speed advantage is not that relative because in the speed traps Red Bull were very fast and they were going around a corner and by the amount he was ahead after the corner it looked like Rosberg lifted slightly while Vettel was flat out.

Blisters cause vibrations in the car and makes it slightly more unstabe in dirty air.

It was still a ballsy move around the outside of Blanchimont.

Gotta be committed to it and hope the other driver is able to give you the room on the outside.

He is now certainly putting to bed any suggestions he can't hack it coming through the pack now, but there is no pressure on him now as he is so far in front. Turkey & Belguim last year he wasn;t miles ahead in teh WDC and seemed to take more risks and made a right hash of getting past Webber & Button.

Excellent move. People will continue to detract saying he had fresher tyres and all the rest of it, but it was still a difficult pass. Nobody's ever overtaken with a slower car.

I don't understand why there is a whole thread on what was just an average overtake,,, is someone trying to prove something that quite frankly doesn't need proving.

If you support a driver fine but you shouldn't have to prove his worth every single step of the way. To be honest you shouldn't really care what other people think.

    Two or more things here.

    1) Vettel deserves another title.
    2) Webber is a brave guy with balls of steel at the age of 36 or something. (real racer)
    3) Alonso is over-driving the Ferrari, like a boss.
    4) Michael Schumacher has not lost any of his race craft as much as many like him to retire.

Didn't have to use DRS to pull it off.

I'm also pointing out that it wasn't plastered all over youtube yet because it wasn't a Brit or Kamui doing it. So the BS will continue to run, saying he cant overtake under pressure, unless people point out the obvious.

Sorry but if I have to have overtakes being slapped in my face left right and center, then it's only fair I can chuck them back and go "Ooooo that was Sennaesque" even if it's "average" to people.

But tbh if it was average, why didn't anybody else pull it off that day? *No aggression in the sentence intended*

But come on it was quality, he timed it perfectly on the outside, with or without the extra grip :)

I said THIS year. In Hungary he ran wide where pretty much everyone ran wide at some point in the race (Button, Hamilton, Alonso, Massa, Schumacher ALL ran wide there). Germany yes he span and slid across the tarmac but he didnt lose any positions and lost only a handful of seconds! Not exactly big mistakes such as crashing into Kobayashi, Button, Maldonado, Massa (such as Hamilton did) :L

Lewis went wide about 5 times in the same conditions at Silverstone and not a mention?

Seb goes wide once at Hungary and it's called "under pressure" (no sniping at anybody intended.)

No offense to him or anyone, but has he actually overtaken someone yet this year with similar tyre conditions? The ones which have been called "Good" hes had much better tyres. Proof is Germany that he still isnt over his overtaking, he has to rely on the team. It was quite funny watching him go round looking quite annoyed in his driving <laugh>
