Morning, all. Nothing for me today and therefore the ‘no bet’ banner is fluttering in the breeze. Must ask why, oh why, though do we need 5 meets today??? And 5 ‘flat only’ meets at that???

The vault will be opened later in the week though, regular readers, as there is a real ‘live one’ running at God’s own racecourse on Thursday.

Sunny Southwell. I am really keen to take the dog of dandy's on in the first, might back the Johnston one against it. Another course winner later on the card too. Will note back later

Like the look of Sir Mark Prescott's filly Albamara in the 3.15 at Epsom. Very encouraging debut and should have learnt enough that day to take this before a potential crack at the Fillies Mile at HQ towards the end of September.

Very weak racing again today, a few to watch in particular a Sir Enery newcomer and also been told of a stable plot at Southwell:

325G: Dickie Doughtyvwylie will take the beating but Sir Enery sends a nicely bred one in Late Telegraph who will make him go, dependant on the prices a FC could be the way ahead.

410R: Ailsa Craig won nicely and should go very well here.

440S: Bogey Hall missed the kick but ran on nicely when starting fav for his debut LTO. Looks a nice price to recoup losses at 8s.

655W: Another debutant to keep an eye on is Let Your Love Flow who is well bred for the AW.

Finally: I have been told Brian Ellison is going for a touch with Rano Pano 510 Southwell, there WILL be plenty of money so take the 100/30 BOG with FRED <ok>

That one has been plotted up for a while, my worry is that its underpriced. Think it will be tough to beat though

Just one I thought might provide a value selection today, and that was Perfect Paradise 20/1 e.w in the opening 2.20 at Goodwood. It ran a nice enough race on debut and probably got slightly short of room at the crucial stage before keeping on, and undoubtedly needed further than the 7f that day. I will forgive the Kempton run since, as she had to cross over and lead up, which meant she was gassed late on. The stiff Goodwood undulations should see this one in a better light and with Buick back on board today, I am hoping we will see the improvement that weas expected after a promising, if not spectacular start at Newmarket. There are 2 or 2 nice sorts with fancy entries, but this one rates the each-way value for me.

I had two in the shape of 2.50 Goodwood Gung Ho Jack but I took 12s last night and wouldn't go near the 6s now.

My main bet of the day is 4.45 Ripon Hot Rod Mamma 11/4 as she attempts to complete a 4 timer. Up 8lbs for her latest victory, most of which is offset by Shane Kelly's claim and even still I think she is a fair bit ahead of the handicapper. She's very versatile in terms of trip and ground and having won at Ripon and considering the form shes in I think the 11/4 represents great value. I've backed her the last twice and she owes me nothing but I would be quite surprised if she gets beat today

As predicted the money has well and truly come for Rano Pano 100/30 into 2s! Let's just hope the horse is good enough :emoticon-0116-evilg

I'm going to show my ignorance again ........................ what's all this malarkey about "swingers" in horse racing? I realise it's probably nothing to do with AC/DC and wife swapping and all that jazz. I believe it's a kind of bet which originated across the Atlantic and has made its was to the UK. Is it something like a reverse forecast or some such?

    All advice gladly received
