I was at the game when we last played Belgium in the World Cup, round of 16, Bologna, Italia ‘90. ****ing brilliant, more of the same please.

 

That’s the player in Southgate coming through, trying to keep everyone happy. Didn’t he have a tournament where he didn’t get a kick?

I imagine that Belgium will do the same.

 

NINE BELGIUM CHANGES

Roberto Martinez makes even more changes to the Belgium team that thrashed Tunisia last Saturday. Only goalkeeper Courtois and defender Boyata retain their places.

Courtois, Verthongen, Boyata, Alderweireld, Meunier, Witsel, De Bruyne, Carrasco, Mertens, E. Hazard and Lukaku all drop out while Kompany is not risked.

I don’t think anyone on either side is going to win a place in the starting line up for the next game on the basis of having a great game tonight. Poor old Vardy could score 5 today and still be dropped.

Nowhere near as dull as France v Denmark.

 

HT. Looks like Belgium are happy to stay 2nd and this England team aren't good enough to beat them anyway.

 

Not dull but has the feel of a friendly. I should imagine much more useful for Southgate than Martinez. Southgate has some real choices to make in some positions, whereas I suspect Martinez might pick Lukaku, Hazard and De Bruyne whatever.

So far from England no real ‘pick me!!!!’ yells, though I like the look of Rashford and I think Dier is showing why Henderson is so important to us.

 

Promising performances by RLC, Rashford, Vardy and Rose. Best player for me is prob Alexander Arnold, some great runs, excellent delivery, and pretty solid at the back.

 

Rose and Terence Trent D'Arby have looked decent. Trippier is nailed on, but Rose might replace Young in the next game. Dier has been poor.
