I believe that if Webster was encouraged and coached to play the ball out from the back, he'd be an even better defender than what we saw at Ipswich. Maybe I'm just trying to nullify the fact we've lost him, as he is undoubtedly a young, talented player, and he was one of the first names on the team sheets, in my opinion. Despite my misgivings and his injury record, he was arguably considered our best defender in the squad and one of the few playing assets we could sell for a handsome fee. My gut feeling is that £3.5m is a very shrewd move in this market.

Regarding his errors, the main themes were a tendency to lose concentration and a weakness in the air. He struggled defending a high ball, but I personally put that down to a lack of strength rather than an unwillingness to challenge crosses.

As with all new players we have to hope he lives up to the hype on the box and with that in mind I welcome him to Ashton Gate, and hopefully a new tractor comes as part of the deal.

I'm hoping Webster can play and welcome such a player to AG, and what a great age.
My only concern, as mentioned on the Ipswich forums, is Webster's fitness.

He can’t cover for both of them at the same time, at least they’ll have each other for company on the physio’s table . <laugh>
