The question is not about the kit but about number 8...no one is wearing number 8 after Gerrard until now.
If he's confident enough to take it, go for it. Can jumped right in and took 23 - another 'legend's' number. I prefer the days when the starting numbers were no higher than 11.
Got enough injury prone/inconsistent strikers thanks. He is a Saints fan though so might not be so quick to **** off.
Inconsistent would be your main worry. If you look and his knees are actually ok in medical then i don't think he will implode again.
I'm the opposite and like good players to take on the numbers left behind from famous players. We need a new 7 no disrespect to Milner but that's a great number for a creative goalscorer.
I think it's media spin. though tbh in the olden days I am sure people were on about Keegan shirt and dalglish coming in or hunt to toshack to rush or whatever. I don't think a no 23 shirt really means much. at least no 1 meant something as a keeper and no 9 meant top striker etc.
I agree with you. It's probably a generational thing. You used to play the number that went with your position on the field, now it seems the number is a major part of player identity and some are very possessive over it.
Warnock wants Grujic on loan at Cardiff next season after his loan spell from last january, I'd give the twat **** all, he's an LFC hater which he's shown during his years as a manager. Let them make a bid for the player, they're in the big league now and guaranteed big money even if they go down again at the end of next season. Marko Grujic: Cardiff City keen to re-sign Liverpool midfielder https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44640137
I remember when it indicated the position you played in, and was assigned to the starters. Things were so much simpler then, (sigh).
Reports: Marko Grujic agrees five-year contract with Liverpool by Greg Evans 21st Dec 2015 http://www.squawka.com/en/news/mark...act-with-liverpool/552738#kdX4Joe8zzVpTb0v.97 His current contract expires in 2020, maybe it's time to sell to cut out losses.
