It is and it's a great setting.
    Hull is really struggling now.
There's no trade from Sunday evening until Thursday/Friday.
Not sure anybody has any answers

The HU13 pub / restaurant has just closed in the Weir so that might be an option but it’s quite small compared to 1884.

1884 people used to have the cafe the other side of the Marina - forget the name now? We used that quite a bit and it was brilliant. Probably 1884 was too big and expensive for most and there’s lots of competition and choice on the Marina. Always is survival of the fittest.

"Closing with immediate effect" raises some questions.

    1884 Wine & Tapas.

I wasn't really a fan, not because there was anything wrong with the food, just because they didn't do most of my favourite tapas dishes.

As OLM said it’s 1884 Wine and Tapas, similar branding etc
I like it, although I’m not particularly a tapas aficionado. Nice decor and atmosphere inside
Last time we went we had tapas there and wine then strolled along to the gin bar for a night cap
For all the criticism and concerns about the post City of Culture bubble you couldn’t have imagined saying that 10 years ago

Agree with all of this but what about the legacy? Hull is dying on its feet and six months into the new season nothing is happening.

It was something else before 1884 Wine and Tapas - but the same people. Can’t remember the name.
