Can you put in the clause that you have to bid at least a month before a window closes? worst possibility is you get left without a keeper if we're forced to sell him right at the end... would like to avoid that.

Yeah my joke was directed at Zola bud, wasnt meaning to imply Mo was anything other than British. In this climate it doesnt pay to make jokes about nationality even when athletics has a humorous history.

The Gunn thing doesn't make much sense to me.

City want him to develop, yet he will be our second choice.

We're stringent as ****, and yet about to spend 15m on a reserve keeper.

And we still have FF on the books.

If we're spending on him, it won't be to use him as a backup, as Gunn wouldn't have much to gain. I guess we re-upped McCarthy to be a backup and are looking at Gunn as our starter of the future? Heh, there's a lot going on.

Dusan has been excellent for us and wish him the very best. Is largely to thank for us being in the Prem this year and has always been one of our best. Including when we've all been rubbish such as over the last two seasons, can't hold our best player at fault for our goal scorers not scoring, our mids being negative and our defence being leaky. Good luck Dusan, going to miss you on the left with Bertrand and will be weird not hearing his name.

If true, that is ****ing moronic. McCarthy just saved us, got POTS, and we're gonna bench him for some unproven youngster?

But on the flip side, Gunn probably doesn't parlay the current interest into a seat on our bench.

We're probably going to have to see how this shakes out, because I don't quite know what the end goal is either. McCarthy might be content with a long-term deal in the PL and the chance to play if Gunn falters, I dunno.

Gunn will be 2nd choice, Forster will be gone. There is no way we keep him and sign Gunn as well

This Chelsea thing doesn't smell very real though. And we could have just put Forster on the bench for the next 87 years. Obviously this follows nicely from my post yesterday where I said McCarthy would leave.

We should be happy with that scenario, two excellent keepers one for the short term and one longer term.
I've always said the all good teams need to have a reliable keeper, this should cover all eventualities and it's not as if we don't have the funds for it.

I'm sure Forster would be gone. Why Gunn would be interested in going from a full-time starter to a cups-only backup at this stage in his career is the part I can't quite comprehend. If he's happy with that, I'm fine with it, it's just a bit weird.

Ffs what’s going on! I go away from the forum to watch some big screen Mondial footy and indulge in beer and avoid “ have we bought anyone yet” and it all goes Pete Tong ! Tadic played well tonight ( in an average, missed chances team) I’m happy for him he served us well and is not going to Palace or Spam. My only disappointment is that Germany lost ( in normal time and not against penalties) it’s a funny old game.

He wasn't the same player after Koeman and Pelle left IMHO that's all.

Probably have a better chance of breaking into the first XI here and we are a PL club, he is still only 22 , young for a top class GK.

Can you enlighten me on the Promes situ? You said that was still happening, but you do anything more concrete like where the player is still interested. Etc

This is a goalkeeper we're talking about. Weird is their normal. They all have to develop a philosophical approach that allows them to stay positive and focussed - prepared to step in at any time, even if they have not played for months
