My wife tells the story of her driving through Paris in our motor home, she omits the bit about it being 3 o'clock in the morning!!
we generally go via ouistreham so avoid altogether.... but we stayed in Paris last year and had no real issues with the roads..
Morning all, another hot day is likely, and the breeze that has been welcome for the past few days has vanished. Watching Countryfile this weekend they were showing that a large tree will suck up 200 litres of water every day. With the long dry summer that we had last year it is no wonder that so many trees in these parts didn't survive.
Really pleased to get an email just now to confirm that after around 15 years of evening classes i have just achieved a BA with merit in French Language and related studies. So happy with it. please log in to view this image
C'est formidable, oh Mont Blanc! Which is about as far as my French goes. Seriously though: Congratulations!
Morning... My french friends have talked about arross-ing my diploma..... which may mean a sprinkler of alcohol?
Morning all. Lovely morning here, so gardening before lunch, then stay in the cool of the house during the afternoon. Did my watering about 7.00 pm yesterday and it was still 30°C. I hope that the football is as gripping today as it was yesterday afternoon.
Morning all. It is already very warm, but not hot. The forecasters say this spell of dry weather will break on Sunday, with thunderstorms and heavy rain. Just getting ready for bed last night and we had a power cut. They are pretty rare these days, but when they do occur you are uncertain if it is a general cut or just your circuits that have tripped out. Seeing as the street lights go out at 10.00 pm, currently they do not even come on, then you cannot tell by looking at them, and the neighbours all have their shutters closed, so no indication from them. It came back on after five minutes, but the appliances with digital clocks had all gone haywire.
