He is mediocre at best. You can keep him at Chelsea, when we buy creative players they are creative, unlike your lot.

He never seems to be in control of the ball .. always getting lucky bounces and ricochets. I didn't rate him at West Ham or Liverpool and I still don't rate him at Chelsea. Rather have Joe Cole than him and that is saying something .. seeing as I don't rate him at all either. In fact I'd say David Bentley is a better player and he is kack too.

Bentley > Yossi - most ridiculous bullshit I've ever heard in my entire life <doh>. I'd genuinely rather have Yossi than Rosicky or Arseshaving.

I dont understand why Chelsea want rid, when I look at the current Chelsea side, i see no creativity in midfield, whilst Benayoun is no Xavi, he does have the ability to unlock a defence, when a game is tight. If Chelsea are getting Modric then fair enough, but I feel with the current squad of players Chelsea currently have Benayoun is good enough to play week in week out. Lampard never has been a creative player, he is a midfielder who likes to get forward, though he has never possessed the craft of a Scholes or a Xavi, to play that killer ball. Ramires works hard, and isn't afraid to get stuck in, and should probably play as the DM. Mikel is a carbon copy of Ramires with less workrate, so I'd drop him:biggrin:

Benayoun has the ability to change a game, add some magic and create something out of nothing -would certainly be a better replacement for any one of your midfielders at the moment tbh.

I'm usually positive to the point of anoyance but if we signed Benayoun I would finally want Wenger to resign. I'd steadfastly kept the faith in him but that would tip me over the edge. Nasri and Fabregas out of an already threadbare squad and Yossi in?! **** the **** off. Next season Europa and the season after that we'd be lucky to even be there after our last few decent players join the exodus. We need to sign quality players to show the squad players worth keeping that we're still a force.

At last it seems Wenger has woken up to reality, shame it took an 8-2 drubbing to force his hand tho'.

Hopefully this will continue. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have the huge players coming. By which I mean Gotze and/or M'Vila.

Would be a decent start alright mate, badly needed and although Metsacker has no pace he has the other qualities and dog-edness that we lack.I've have seen little of Park but he will be fighter based on what I have seen from SK players and the performances of their national side. All 3 are matured experienced internationals, that would be a major help and will be a missive boost to get some fresh faces in after the shables we have seen so far.

I know we've moaned alot about no activity this summer but this isn't half exciting now it's all happening at once! If we do plug our holes over the next 2 days, then I won't have any complaints. I've never actually looked forward to a transfer deadline day before, until now!

Question is, why did it take a shaky start and a good hiding by manure for them to spring into life on the transfer front. Imagine if we had faced the likes of Swansea, QPR and Wigan for first 3 games? Assume say we got the maximum points from those games, with these same players...... Wenger would have come out with the same spill, signing a CB or LB will kill Gibbs and Jenkinson, I have a lot of quality to promote from within....
If all these impending signings are to be believed, then something good has come out of the old trafford debacle.... We can only hope!

Im happy for you if you get these players in as it's a shame seeing Arsenal play so poor and look so fragile. A back line of Santos, Vermaelen, Mertesacker and Sagna looks solid providing you keep vermaelen fit. As a Liverpool fan im just glad we have played you at the emirates already because i have a feeling with a few signings and your suspensions and injuries back you will be a force again.

Very good point, numerous false dawns and rumours that have never proved to be anything more. Fingers crossed though..

If it's any consolation, we have spent more this transfer window than any other.

I like the positivity/ glass half full syndrome..... We have lost more quality this season than any other! Fab if it was an open market should have gone for 45-50mill, Nasri if he had a couple more years could have fetched 35-40mill, Clichy another 15mill, so easily lost 80mill worth of talent there!

  18. That hiding at OT may have done us good in the long run. The more I think into and read about all this, the more I come to believe that Arsene is not the one to shoulder all the blame. He is not perfect but the best we have had. I really hope he is not too disheartened by things of late. Perhaps not the best tactician, he remains a great squad builder and nurturer of talent. We should bring in the likes of Steve Bould or Lee Dixon ( he can bring the Betfair chocs and especially ladies!!! ), David Dein and money from Mr Usmanov?

I read this earlier today about the possibility of problems behind the scenes
