Definitely, but Spain's toughest path to the final could be something like Russia > Croatia > Belgium/England, whereas (if Mexico avoids defeat against Sweden, and Germany beats South Korea) Brazil's road runs through Germany > Belgium/England > Portugal/France/Argentina. Brazil has the quality, but that's a tough run.
True I haven't really looked too deep into that yet I just had a feeling about them pre tournament so sticking with it. I also can see Spain doing well but its very open this year with no clear favourites imo.
Agreed, none of the favourites have really set the world alight to date. Spain through by the skin of their teeth in a group that they (and Portugal) were expected to romp, Argentina scraping it at the death, Brazil wobbly and Germany staring at the abyss before Kroos' goal.
What aboout Uruguay. May well suck the life out of Portugal and then get a winning goal. Can see this one going to penalties if both play to form.
Yeah penalties wouldn't surprise me at all in that one but wouldn't be surprised if either nick it too. I fancy Argentina against France.
I am sticking with my pre-tournament bet of France. Though I think Spain have a chance despite their average performances so far.
And Argentina have been pretty woeful. France have got a better squad so if they play well they should win.
They were my pick before the tournament to be the biggest flops, comfortably got the best squad in the tournament I think but thought they would under perform. Kind of hard to pick biggest flop atm as so many teams have looked ****.
Do they have the best squad? I think they lack creativity in their side, a player like Silva or De Bruyne with a visio to unlock a defence. They just have a lot of runners and dribblers.
