The funny thing about it is that Peterborugh council are Tory-controlled so they couldn't actually blame the council as they would have been attacking one of their own.

If it had been a Labour-led council no doubt they would have dusted off their Loon Left council headlines like they used to do in the 80s.

Good point. I suppose there's also a strong possibility that she actually provoked the tree to collapse and that's also the fault of the teachers for not educating the kids to have respect for all living things.

Mick saw the words "Daily Mail" and the red mist descended obscurring his view of this post.

I reckon a Labour man sabotaged the tree to make the local Tory council look bad. That's what eddievee told me anyway.

Plus if teachers were still allowed to hit their pupils, her skull would've been hardened over time, meaning she could've escaped with brain damage.

Well to be fair reading the southern edition of the Daily Mail and expecting them to print something impartial towards Scotland would be like reading An Phoblacht and expecting an impartial story towards the English.

Wouldn't a lot of Norn Irn'rs be happier to stay as part of the UK though? Plus we've owned the place for long enough now, it's a bit like when you borrows someone's DVD or something and they don't get it back for 5 years or more, most people just let it go by that point.

Carefull, you'll start Pedro off on how all the people who kicked up such a fuss for a United Ireland over those 30 years are secretly British Unionists.

Personally, Northern Ireland is the arsehole of the United Kingdom, it's also the arsehole of Ireland as a hole. People who want it to stay the same are certainly not all that wise. Whether or not constitutional change is the answer is another thing, the hopefully impending devolution of tax controls to the NI executive could be a way to change things for the better, but the situation as it is, is a joke.

You make **** of our DVD's, scratch them to **** and then give them back to us. Then when we try and clean the DVD and get it to try and function you blame us for not being able to get it working properly. You then loan us money at extortionate rates to buy a blu ray player and act like it is some kind of altruistic gesture.

Is the Republic doing that well though Mick? Didn't they need to be bailed out by the EU? Britain's hardly laughing at the moment either, but would liberating NI really help?

There is more to life than money Jip. I would rather eat the scabs of an old alcho in a United Ireland than earn a million pound a week in the UK. I mean that too.

You should have just let us kept the DVD and let us look after it. You could've always come round and watched it at our house <ok>
In fact, this goes for India, Canada, Australia, Afghanistan and the rest. Why do you all have to be so selfish?
