Fair play to Ings, clearly won't get enough time here. He has the right attitude, work ethic and is a fair quality. He will do well elsewhere. I assume Solanke and possible Brewster will be used a bit more this season? Unless we sign someone
I think it's more to do with style than quality. I think he's more effective as a goal-hanger and we don't play that way. I'm sure he'll do well in the right team if he can avoid further serious injury.
Ings as only had two injuries, they were just both long term. He's definitely got more than ten games a season in him.
More to do with Studge not being prepared to run through that infamous brick wall for the team. Ings would
For his age - can't believe he's only 25 - he should have more games a season in him but I fear the types of injuries he's had will have left weaknesses that won't stand up to stringing more than a handful of games at a time together. Unfortunately for him, he missed his big chance with us and will probably now go to the Championship, maybe ....
So, it's your opinion that he won't play many games a season. Imo, he'll be fine and able to play much more than that so long as he avoids further injuries (as much as any other player) I still don't think Ings will leave. He's a good loyal lad with a fantastic mentality and not in big wages, he's a great squad player to have imo
He's made 14 league appearances in 3 years, only 2 of them were full games. From that I'd say it's difficult to tell whether he could play a lot of games together. He always looks eager to please and it's a real shame his career has been hampered with injuries. I'd like to see him do well whether that's with us remains to be seen.
for.me I don't see ings as even a squad option. I just don't. nothing against the lad but he is borini all over again. he's not a lethal.striker just unlucky with injuries, he's a decent striker who misses a lot of chances. I cannot see him offering us what we need as a reserve for firmino for example.
nothing against ings. it's just the way it is. He didn't get his medal either so tough but imo go play. if he can do what Jay Rodriguez has done after his injuries he should. why play 5 games maybe and sit on a bench when you can play for same money.
Harsh to say he’s breaking a toe nail. He’s an injury prone player - it’s unfortunate, similar to how it’s unfortunate for Ings to suffer his injuries as well. Both are mentally strong to keep coming back.
I don’t think Sturridge is mentally strong. Was that whole episode of people saying that unless studge says he felt 100% he wouldn’t play... despite most pros saying they never feel 100%. It does seem a lot of the time coming back from injury it’s a mental thing and you can see he holds back a bit which probably doesn’t help him get back to full fitness quickly. Hes really unlucky woth injuries because he was one of the best CF in England a few years back and had potential to be top top quality but lost that bit of spark.
No hard feeling for Ings. Can’t moan about him wanting to go somewhere to get first team football. Could stay and fight but let’s be honest he doesn’t quite suit our current line up so he’s never going to be first choice. Gutted didnt quite work out for him but sure he’ll do well where ever he goes. Easily get into most mid table prem clubs if he can prove hisfitness.
Don't put them in the same category, that's embarrassing! Ings = 2 injuries Studge = 3,567 injuries per week
I do agree. ings has had two very bad knee injuries. they do take their toll and it will take a good 6 months of playing for ings to approach being fit. I can't see him.getting those games at Anfield. sturridge will never be right. Imo the hip injury did for him. his earlier injuries were ankle and a couple hammys but once the hip goes they are never right... He simply can't run and can't stay fit as he just pulls something constantly. sturridge career should be over. ings needs to move to.make his career.
