Similar temperatures here, just 37C today. Anything under 20C now and it feels cold.

Depends on whether it's humid or not. Hot drinks make you sweat more, but if it's too humid it won't evaporate to cool you.

I ****ing love this weather. And I work outdoors.

I love all of it actually - cold, ice and snow in the winter, wind and rain in spring and autumn, this sun and heat, long summer evenings.

I don't really understand why people complain about the weather in Britain; it's pure drama every day, you rarely know what you're going to get. When I was a kid we had holidays in Devon or Cornwall, and if it rained you still went in the sea.

Ditto. Love hot weather. Out running and cycling and bbqing every day. Breakfast and dinner in garden.

    What's not to like?

Walk to work where I'm currently contracting from the station in central London - about 2 miles with a rucksack <yikes> - lovely in the morning recently but hell going back between 5 and 6:30 ... mind you there are some fine sights out there when the weather is like this, my friends ... yesterday was decidedly 'under-boobs' day <laugh>

I am working late shifts this week, and also next monday and tuesday, so I will miss the next two England games (so possibly the whole of the remainder of our WC).

I have been with this employer for nearly 3 years, and in that time I have not been sick once. I haven't even been late for work...

    ...oh, it's a dilemma alright

So you can pull a sicky without feeling guilty!

I say unemployed, I’m just on a week off between jobs <cheers>

haha, my mum would 'sunbathe' in the fog, her 2 week summer hol was going to be spent at the beach regardless of the weather, didn't bother us kids either, **** weather meant we had less people to share the beach with.

hmm, 3 years of perfect health, sick for England game, not suspicious at all. I'd miss the Belgium game as it's pretty much meaningless and go for the last 16 match, work on it for a coupole of days before hand, coughs, rubbing throat etc, might be believed then, but, tbh, I doubt it.

I can see it being Englands sickest day so far this year, should take a leaf out of the Uruguyan's book and stop everything whilst the game is on.

Yeah, I can pull a sicky and they can't say a lot.

They'd know though - and when the domestic football season starts and Sky starts ****ing with the fixtures, I will get a less sympathetic hearing when I want to swap days off etc.

We should, really. Just declare a public holiday ffs, it's not like England reach the knockouts every four years.

Plus, the dutiful sods who do go in to work will also have to cover for the half of the country that does go sick <ok>
