I’m not sure, recurrence of injury is the only thing, he wasn’t back in training from his previous one.

    We managed to sign Lichaj.
Other clubs are signing players (just look across the water as an example of how to do it, and that it can be done).
I don't see anything wrong with Nige stating how he wanted it to be. After all, Enob says we're the best run club in the world and all that.

    You're right again Driff.

As an amateur set up The Swans at Barton Town have certainly got their business done early and look to have got some good players in, especially that Joel Sutton from Brid.

Saw him a few times last season and he certainly has an eye for goal.

What happened at Blackpool is happening here & unless the owner states publically that he's backing the manager with funds then my mind won't be changed

Nigel Adkins has revealed Hull City's James Weir will miss at least half of the season after aggravating a knee injury.

Weir has made just seven appearances for the Tigers in all competitions since joining from Manchester United in August 2016 on a three-year contract and missed the majority of last season after picking up a knee injury whilst playing with the under-23s.

Nevertheless, after six months on the sidelines the 22-year-old hopes of kicking on under Adkins this summer have been dashed after a setback in his recovery.

It means Weir’s time in the treatment room will be prolonged to more than a year, with the head coach explaining he won’t be seen in black and amber again until at least December.

“James Weir won’t be playing,” Adkins told the club website after the first-team squad returned to the club’s Cottingham base for the first day of pre-season training.

“He’s had a reaction to his knee at the end of last season so he’s put of the equation until gone December. We can’t do nothing about that.”

And, in comparison to Liverpool, how many players have we away on WC duty who will be playing all next season and not offloaded if someone offers a couple of quid and who want to get away if they can anyway?

Ondrej Mazuch and Angus MacDonald are set to be fit for the start of the new season after reporting back for the opening day of pre-season training on Monday.

The defensive duo picked up injuries in the closing weeks of last season, Mazuch (pictured) damaging his hamstring on the final day against Brentford and MacDonald damaging his shoulder against Cardiff a week earlier.

Both have made encouraging progress during the summer break, with Head Coach Nigel Adkins pleased to see them both out on the field this week.

“Angus is joining in with non-contact work at the moment, which is ideal for what we’re doing at this stage,” said Adkins.

“He’s not too far away and I’d like to think that, come Portugal, he can join in with the games out there.

“Ondrej has been doing some individual training during the break and we’d like to think that he can just join back in now. We’ve obviously got these days of testing this week, so we’ll see where everybody is.”

The news is less positive for midfielder James Weir who faces a few more months on the sidelines with his knee injury.

“James had a reaction to his knee at the end of last season, so unfortunately he is out of the equation until gone December,” added Adkins.

Our last head of recruitment Stan Ternent got Clucas, Robertson & Maguire in for about 6M total, when is Lee Darnbrough unveiling his bargains?
