The stats don't mean **** mate, you claimed he went missing. He has heavily influenced our wins this season even when not scoring or assisting such as Rashford's 2nd against you lot and Pogba's against Arsenal. You'd have beaten us if he wasn't on the pitch at Old Trafford, how's that for 'goes missing'
Some stats are misleading but getting goals or assists are clear indicators and quite solid despite them not showing the overall picture.
All goals and assists stats do mate is show when he scored or assisted. If you want to claim people go missing if they don't score or assist then most strikers go missing most of the time. You're going to need to dig out some more stats if you want to claim he went missing, such as touches of the ball, lost possession, distance covered etc.
He had the same bullshit thrown at him when he was at Goodison, the fact that we spent most of the games on the back foot against the top sides didn’t seem to factor into the ‘logic’. The lad is a top notch striker, give him a sniff and he gets shots away and finds the net, you don’t get a 1 in 2 goal ratio over 6 PL seasons on the spin at his age, by being anything other than a top drawer forward.
That would take far too much effort, I'll just go with what I have and that clearly suggests he's a huge oaf that only turns up against Swansea.

The last thing I want to do is to come wading in, here, with a wum. I don't think a serious discussion like this deserves such disrespect. What I will say is that I do consider Lukaku to be a half-decent striker, and one who would definitely be more effective in a more attack-minded team. He must curse his luck that he's ended up playing for the most negative manager in World footy, at the moment. That said, I don't think the lad will ever be World class, for one main reason - he's a bit of a one-trick pony. Put the ball at his feet, running onto a defence, and the meaty chubster will bulldoze his way through the lot, but give the lad something to think about and some creative work to do, and he's lost. As I say, I'm not here to wum; just wanted to get my point across.

I was just about to say that Lukaku is United's Darren Bent! That isn't a wum, either. I, unlike most Spurs fans, actually rated Darren Bent. I rate Lukaku, too, in very much the same way. Both are great at scoring goals that don't really matter, in minor games, but the minute you expect something special from them, they disappear. Sure, in a really important game they might score the goal for you in a 1-2 loss and then celebrate like you owe them a favour, but that's about it.
