Pleased for Colombia. My nephew spent 3months there recently, and it is a vibrant country. Since the ceasefire all the previously warring factions have come together to make it work after years of misery. The people were so friendly as well. It's reflected in the way they play, with a smile on their face.

Excellent article in the Indrpendent complaining about Danny Murphy's commentary on the basis that he used 'we' in connexion with England. A whole bundle of comments after it that the BBC should be neutral. You what???? England are playing and the BBC should be neutral, presumably to avoid offending the Scots and Welsh, plus the idiots dho wyote in and complained (apologies to FHB who I doubt was offended). When Spain play, the commentators are unabashedly Spanish, in Catalunya, FC Barcelona are not so much commentated on but resolutely defended by supporters, and I imagine the rest of the world is the same. Why do these morons expect the BBC to be neutral?

In line with most of your Charlton posts, this is nonsense. We won against Tunisa with a last minute goal that we did not deserve. Rio Ferdinand states on tv that Panama would find it difficult to get in to the football league, and then says that England were great, which they were not. If we beat Belgium 6.1 then perhaps we will make it to the SF, but l rate England as very average, and that is being kind. If our next game was against Croatia, we would lose heavily; as they are a very good side indeed. We will lose to Belgium 1.2
