All ditto here in the sun. Need to get some long range branch cutters today to keep the Bougainvilleas in control. If not they dump their pretty purple and yellow petals into my neighbours swimming pool. And don't want to upset him as he is my source of lemons.

I guess the Iceland game might be of interest today (with our connections) as it could see Argentina left hanging on by their fingernails - but must say cannot get too excited.

Well better get on with something other than gazing at a screen.

    Enjoy one and all <cheers>

Just read that here, that since September 2017 when the pre-electorial candidates could start applying and campaigning; 112 of them have been Jill Dandoed.

Oh, election time here is such a joy and this one is the most violent in history here.

Morning all from a sunny Jersey. It's the round the island walk today, so those attempting the whole thing started at 3am. Those attempting the Lieutenant-Governor's walk start a lot later as they're only attempting to walk 14 miles instead of the full 48 miles. The L-G's walk is done so that approximately a quarter of the island is walked each year, although the location of the checkpoints mean that they can't have a course of exactly a quarter each year.

Morning all. Lovely morning in rural France with the breeze that started yesterday continuing to keep the temperature under control. Good to have the French Grand Prix back again after ten years. From what I read yesterday nothing much had changed to help spectators actually get into the circuit. Tailbacks stretching for miles. I lived near to Silverstone where they had the same problem, but eventually they just shut the main A43 for the weekend, and set up a lengthy diversion for anyone not going there.

Mornin' all. Well first good luck to all participants jsy. I see the weather forecast looks good :emoticon-0157-sun:

As for crazy Mexico it shows just how much further man has to go before as a race we can be considered civilised. Maybe give it another 200 years

Here hot sunny and I think a day for a little footy watching. C'mon Mexico :emoticon-0100-smile Then maybe Sweden? Then maybe watch Belguim??? Then bed. Well that wraps up today.

Enjoy whatever one and all <cheers>

Morning all, some light cloud has appeared from somewhere, and the sun is hiding. It would be lovely to get on outside, but my morning has been arranged for me. Still if all goes to plan I will be back for an afternoon of sport. :emoticon-0100-smile

Morning all, a lovely summer morning again with a light breeze. I have until the end of the month to burn my heap of brambles and other material that I cannot compost as from July until the end of August bonfires are banned here. Three years ago a hedge went up in flames requiring the services of the fire brigade, and the speed that it spread was quite alarming. Drive south towards the Med. and you start to see signs reminding you to be careful of starting fires as they can be very difficult to control if they get out of hand. It can be a very sad sight to see a mountainside after a fire with the blackened stumps of trees, but it is amazing to see a year later how the plant life has regenerated.
