Can we declare now? We have reverted to dross. Vardy has disappeared, Sterling can't even score against this feeble defence and our DoF has forgotten how to play football.

Since Trippier has gone off we've forgotten how to pass forward.

Score with Kane and Trippier on the pitch: England 6-0 Panama.
Score without Kane and Trippier: England 0-1 Panama.
    Just sayin'...

  4. The 2nd half performance has been everything that the first half wasn't. But the feckin' commentatoors think everything is great.
    It ISN'T!!!

Hopefully, Southgate gets the bigger picture

The 2nd half has been the usual England; sloppy, aimless, disjointed and a team incapable of even doing the basics right. It would be laughable if it didn't mean we will be on the reverse if this result come the first decent team we play.

@KingHotspur Now Panama is what I would call a dirty team. More like rugby than football but pleased to see the referee respond and award penalties. Maybe there have been words from fifa, after Tunisia decided to throw Harry to the ground whenever they could.
I can't believe you lot are moaning about the second half <laugh> FFS what do you expect! What would be really stupid would be to run yourself into the ground in 30 degrees of heat :emoticon-0141-whew:when the job is done. Let's give England some credit you miserable bunch of moaning bar stewards. :bandit:

That may be true, but I think Lingard still had rather a lot to do!

That England number 9 has got something about him - Amazing the difference having a player who knows how to play as the focal point of the attack makes- we did nothing after we went off and thats because the movement was nowhere near as good - LIngard and Trippier the other 2 stand out players going off didn't help either

Will still be better with Dier for Henderson and that's not just bias he will give us better balance against better teams, Rashford for Sterling is now a must and Alli when fit will come back for Loftus-Cheek who did ok but again does not make the runs that Alli does.

The positive from the game is that England have done what they should have done against weak opposition - which has not always been the case in the past.

The negative is that it tells us little about future performance against tougher opposition. So those getting carried away do the players no favours - they just add pressure.

    No real driving attacking CM.
    Lapses in defensive concentration.

    That much I already know.

    BBC punditry in a nutshell

At 6-0 Guy Mowbray mentions that, as it stands, all England need is a draw against Belgium to finish top of the group
Less than five minutes later, with the score now 6-1, Danny Murphy repeats this - to the point even Guy Mowbray had to correct him

Well, there's that, and there's the time they praised Jamie Vardy for smart play after running down a blind alley and trying to cross to absolutely nobody, and his cross was so well taken it was as close to the centre circle as the goal line when it came down next to a perplexed-looking Panamanian defender...

We also had Murphy bemoaning Kane for overhitting a 'simple' pass to Sterling, but praising his beloved Henderson for his vision in messing up similarly 'easy' passes!

Yeesh, a 6-1 win over Panama and Twitter assumes England will win the World Cup.

You'd think the "1" part of the previous sentence would serve as a hint that their confidence is misplaced...

Aftr years of spectacularly losing World Cup games when we desperately needed to win, it works out that England are probably far better off losing against Belgium and coming second in their group. Rest assured, this won't be lost on Belgium either.

I can see both teams doing their best not to win and it being 0 - 0 with just a few minutes left. At which point, it's probably going to come down to Fair Play Points. I can just imagine us bringing on last minute subs, with instructions to get red cards by taking a **** in the centre circle and pulling faces at the officials.........................finally, something useful for Gary Cahill and Danny Welbeck to do.
