Looking at the start of the season, its hard not to say Liverpool will finish 3rd, i know its only early and teams are still finding their rhythm but Chelsea seem sluggish and grinding out the wins, whch could turn them into champions but i dont think so, not with United and City a million miles ahead of every team in the country thus far.

Arsenal Spurs Everton are all in disarray and i would fancy everton to pip the two of them to a top ten finish as it stands, and their is no one else left Liverpool should with relative ease this season get 4th, it pains me to say it though, your looking a good solid side, and a few more signings away from a possible 19th title, but not this season i dont think, cCty and united are by far on a different stratosphere to all the other clubs in this division.

I'd be delighted with 3rd. It would be a true step in the right direction

We all know that our target for this season is to improve and that top 4 would be the proof of that improvement. However should we find ourselves within touching distance at the turn of the year then we should go for it.

It's not being blinkered or prejudiced but it's farfar too soon to be crowning either United or City

AVB is yet to impress me, it is a toss up between us and Chelsea. Some Arsenal think they are 'guaranteed' top 4 because they 'always do'...never realised it was so easy.

Foredeckdave totally agree but the start they have made is mnd blowing and the free flowing cohesive football is a joy to watch, united are normally very slow starters and normally raise it a gear round christmas, i still dont even think they have hit full form yet but are blowing everything away in their path atm, ashley young got me 46 points on fantasy this week lol.

Chelsea, United or City for the top3/ title.

Spurs, Arsenal or Liverpool for 4th/5th/6th

Arsenal are a mess and Wenger has lost the plot, but they have huge resources and the lure of London, it could be put right with a little commonsense and pragmatism.

And Spurs will be ok once Modric is sorted one way or the other, Adebayor could be a sensational signing for them.

Not really very realistic, the top 4 is still going to be very competitive despite Spurs' and Arsenal's shortcomings. I think people are overestimating Chelsea in bit in terms of the quality of their squad, they are aging and I'm not sure if they've got the necessary skill to win it or overtake the manchester clubs. It'll probably be a fight between Liverpool and Chelsea for 3rd and 4th, with Arsenal chasing up behind very close but not quite there.

For me i would be very happy with a top 4 finish and the League Cup and Happy with just a top 4 finish.

Just look back to last season. 6 games into the season Radio 5's Monday Night Club (Motson/Claridge/ etc) had a debate about how quickly Chelsea would claim the title and how large the winning points margin was likely to be! Now we all know what eventually happened.

I've seen more of United's matches than City's but I already see that the hype does not stand scrutiny. Arsenal were a shambles but they still managed 2 goals and could/should have had more. WBA were unlucky to lose. Spurs held them fairly easily in the first half.

City do appear to have found the will to attack and Nasri appeared to give Silva far more options to feed what looks like an 'on fire' forward line. However, you cannot call Spurs forward line prolific and still tested City's defence.

    It's far too soon.

This is just my opinion its between Liverpool and Chelsea for 3rd. I can't see Liverpool finishing any higher than that just yet. However Arsenal will not be playing champions league football in the 2012/2013 season. They are a minimum of 5 players short squad wise.
The signs of Arsenals demise were shown when Liverpool went to the emirates and dominated posession, its been a long time since a team had more posession than Arsenal on their turf.

Foredeckdave arsenal were a shambles against your lot too but you only managed 2 goals, spurs unbeaten at the lane in 18 games get slaughtered 5-1, united wont fade they never do, city may struggle with europe but when you look at the depth of their squad its eaily able to cope with the games, i think and il put my 'reputation' on the line with this one city and united will be 15 points or more clear of everyone else come gameweek 38

I will put my reputation on the line to suggest Man City will be champions with United 2nd and Liverpool 3rd, Chelsea 4th, Arsenal 5th, and Spurs 6th.

i love when people talk about the "lure of london"

the transfer window closes within 48 hours.... wenger doesn't seem to have anything lined up bar maybe cahill.... if they go into this season unitl january without reinforcements they are in for a very rude awakening.

Arsenal fans need to learn from the likes of newcastle and us, ac milan, juve etc that just cos you WERE in the CL doesn't give you the automatic right to be in it always. Spurs fans seemed to have thought that despite them only being in it once they were in there forever.

City and utd are indded right now looking formidable but thats 3 games in. Utd should really win this thing if the usual pattern of them kicking on after christmas holds true. I think we can take 3rd but i think that depends on chelsea's form. They can get a lot better.

I think your Blue shades are showing! At the Emirates, Arsenal still had Nasri, Frimpong (spl) in their midfield, Vermallen and Sagna in defence and the same forward line that they employed at OT. They were very far from being a shambles. Yet we still managed over 50% of possession, had more shots on goal, more shots on target and restricted them to only 1 shot (and that was preceeded by a foul) within our box.

You can stake your 'reputation' if you so wish but gameweek 38 is a long way away and we'll see. How about a virtual pint on it?

You're ON. So it's City & United for top 2 with the gap to 3rd being 15+ points? If so let's double the bet?
