Come on, we all like to watch a dirty game, that was tasty last night. Best tattoos so far go to the Argentina manager, not bad for an old bloke.
I enjoyed it. I thought it was tremendous when Otamendi booted Raikitic. Its poor form of course, but nonetheless entertaining. I may have even partaken in similar behaviour in my playing days
The most entertaining part of the footy (apart from a couple of games involving 1. England and 2. Argentina), has been the presence of expert pundit Patrice Evra. I'd love another showdown between him and England lioness Eni Aluko.
With Germany and Brazil I think it's unrealistic to think both/either will go out in the group stages but it is vey likely Mexico will win the group and Germany will meet Brazil in the 2nd round. Even better if it's the other side of the draw to where we go (we were due to meet one of those two in the quarter finals in the unlikely event we get there). QF would be a great WC for us but if we end up facing Switzerland/Mexico and guard against complacency it would be the best shot of a SF we'll have for probably another generation. To clarify, the 2nd placed team in our group will play the winner of group H (Japan/Colombia/Senegal/Poland) and then a QF versus the winner of Germanys group or 2nd place in Brazils (so probably Mexico/Switzerland). Now there is a hopeful set of fixtures. Obviously we'll now win our group then go out to Japan or cut straight to the exit with a loss to Panama.
Note: If Mexico win today then (following that Belgium result), it may be worth a £5 on England to get to the semis whilst the odds are presumably still good. I'm not saying we will, just that it isn't that far fetched as we may only have to beat Panama, Japan and Mexico to get there (the latter of which could easily cream us by the way).
