Messi walked off the pitch without shaking hands with any of the Croatian players. Fantastic player but an arrogant, classless tit.

How on earth no one was sent off is beyond me. There were dirty tackles all over the pitch.

The Croat scorer was a lucky fecker staying on, ditto at least 7 Argies, but my goodness me how good are Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric?

Messi was rubbish. Silent throughout, not a leader of men. Hugely talented but cowering in the formidable shadow of CR7 these days. Nobody can tell me Portugals players are any better than the pool Argentina can pick from, but the difference in captains is seismic.

Ronaldo is the better player for me. When the chips are down he steps up. Plus, he's a lovely bloke off the pitch.

Otamendi couldn't even correctly time kicking the ball off Rakitic's head when he was on the floor <laugh> Croatia played like this in the last World Cup but fizzled out in the quarter finals. I think they might do the same this time round

Bar our win, this was the best result I've watched.
As my son said, they had as bad a defence as Goose Green.

They really are up against it now, the way they are playing they might not score another goal.

It's the turn of the Germans tomorrow, they've got to win else they are facing the exit too.

Now wouldn't that be nice? :)

Argentina should beat Nigeria. Can see Iceland drawing with Nigeria and not beating Croatia. If Sweden can take a point off the Germans it doesn't look good for them

Argentina and Germany out would be amazing! Spain or Portugal "could" go as well depending on results - unlikely I know but...Brazil draw with Costa Rica and they need a result vs Serbia - Mitro for the win! This World Cup could be ridiculous! Can't wait for the final round of group games next week!

Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Maradona near tears yesterday and Messi storming off like a little child!

Can't see it. I'd bet good money it all works out for the usuals. Nigeria beat Iceland/Argies beat Nigeria, then Brazil beat CR, Spain/Portugal win their last games and Germany will get through.

With the Argies, they're bang average and can't play against good defenders - Iceland are a tight unit, Croats put in a shift. Lucky for them they drew Nigeria.

Felt for Messi. Thought Sampaoli had more about him. It was like watching previous England teams. Fearful on the ball, no sign of any kind of coherent tactics, no attempts to make space for Messi and Aguero to work in. You have the best player in the world , in my opinion anyway, and one of the greatest forwards about, and you can't even fashion a yard of space for them to work in. There was no pattern of play or discernable method to it all. I'd feel sorry for Argentina but they are like Portugal and Ronaldo to me, cheating ****s, so **** them.

The petulance towards the end from Otamendi and co was poor. The croatian lad should have went of course, but that didn't make much difference to be honest. Modric, Brozovic, Raikitic had their midfield on toast. They're a talented side Croatia but I can't see them going all the way as that defence still looks shaky to me.

I get the Messi trudging off being a bit off but I forgive **** like that in a world cup because its bitterly disappointing and frustrating. He'll know it wasn't his greatest moment. The lad is far from arrogant, he is humble and credit to the game. The comparisons with Ronaldo will go on, but Ronaldo is a complete tit. All this **** about "oh but he does this for charity". So ****, he's still a complete self absorbed arsehole.

Now would be the time to whack some mullah on it mate! Brazil, Germany, Spain and Portgual to all go through could get you some decent money. Add Argentina to that before the Iceland game today and you could be quids in!
