If true of course, that level of financial investment and backing will mean only one thing. Bruce will not be leaving SAFC for the next 12 months at least (unless there is a complete collapse again of course).

You dont give a manager £12m or £14m without the intention of retaining him long term. I think that this would put an end to ANY speculation about the manager and end the daily blood letting surely, as it would be pointless.

However, until I see him in a Sunderland shirt and interviewed on TV, its what it is. Pure speculation.

I told myself I'd stop getting excited about youtube after Riveros, but..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xn5_fPN08Y

Never seen him play live but on the face of it, he can shoot with both feet, he's a handful in the air, powerful shooting to boot, and good technique. Would be chuffed if this came off. Can see absolutely no reason why we'd let Gyan go and personally think that's a load of bollocks.

    Gyan - PDC
    Sess - Catts - Gardner - Larsson

    Looks good to me!

Whilst I have never seen him play live, just seen videos, he appears to be a right footed in the box goal scorer, we got £20m for Bent therefore presumably we can pay up to that for his replacement, and judging from the vids almost like for like!

This would be brilliant, but not if we got rid of Gyan. We are royally ****ed once the ACN comes around if this is true though...

Bruce has got to keep within the wage limit he has, cash to buy is not the problem!.

So, as long as PDC is not asking for ridiculous wages (and german league is less than ours) there is no reason why we shouldn't have both.

He is the long awaited REPLACEMENT for Bent!!

I hope so mate, I hope we have rulled the roost over him for months and carefully selected him and not just seen the odd game and rushed into buying him. It just seems a bit desperate to me being so close to the limit but maybe we done this to get the best deal I'm not sure.

Also agree with Cest, Bruce is here for the long run wether fans like it or not and we should support him but we can also criticise him.

I get what you're saying with our 2 main strikers out. But we've got Swansea, Norwich, Stoke and Arsenal in the time the Cup is on, and that's presuming that its a Senegal - Ghana final.

Hopefully if we do get PDC, his arrival would give Connor and Ji more time to settle in with less pressure on them, so we could see some contribution from them while the ACN is on? Not ideal by any stretch, but they've got to get some games at some point! Against Stoke away, and Arsenal, we're more likely to play with just one up top anyway (like we do in all our bloody games at the moment, ha!)

Don't bother mate. He's a Mag with one intention. To try to open up divisions between us on this board.

There is no way we would bring 1 in and let Gyan leave.

Can I get this through to you all, we have plenty of money for transfer fees, it's wages we were struggling with but now Steed and McCartney are gone we can afford another in.

The only reason Gyan would go is because we have 2 strikers lined up and he wants to go.

I can't see the Spurs thing tbh, they have Adybyor, with the ACN this year I cannot see them wanting to lose both their strikers.

Sess palys for Benin, they didn't qualify (thank christ!)

Cisse & Asa would go, and likely be there a few weeks as they are 2 of the strong African nations, but as previously mooted, Whickham & Ji would at least have some time under their belts by January.

As for Cisse, i have watched him a few times, as i often bet on the Bundesliga, and the games are live on 365.

He IS like Bent, but he is also a goal creator, he created 2 on Saturday, in a 3-0 win for Freiburg.

His wages will be peanuts right now, at a club that small in a heavily financially policed league, he could be on less than 20k a week.

We know that Steed freed up close to 3 times that, and Ringo was allegedly on 40k as well.

This is the man, if we get him, i don't see Bruce out happening, not because he's been backed, but because with this lad, and the solidity of the defence, we would be winning games, and if we're winning games, Bruce is fine by me.

I'm telling you mate, i'm nee scout or owt like that, but i have played and watched football since i was about a foot tall, i don't need a badge from the FA to tell me what kind of footballer we need.

This is the textbook fit for us mate, i am literally preying that this is true.

Not since the man he will replace, Bent, have i been so desperate for a signing to come off.
