The thing is, though, that the system at Arsenal previously was fundamentally broken.. A new manager with new tactics and a new system may be able to get more out of the same bunch of players. Can't really make a judgement as you've not seen them function together so any ideas are just speculation tbh.
when do you reckon Moura will get an opportunity? Reminds me of a young Ronaldo, just glides past his man so easily but lacks that end product/team chemistry. Surely he's got to replace Lamela as the first sub.
FWIW, I don't expect Arsenal to come roaring back next season, I would like to see us back in the top 4 but it will be a tough ask. We have stagnated and gone backwards for many years so a rebuilding process is necessary. It will take time.
Yeah he’ll play a lot more. From Jan to May it was a case of bedding him in, he’d played barely zero football before joining us so was out of shape and likely lacking in confidence. In the glimpses we’ve seen he’s really impressed everyone, excited to see what he can do next season.
It's evident that nothing much has got going yet. Nobody who has been signed by any team in the league or players strongly linked to them worries me at all. City will have the strongest squad at the end of the window regardless, so it's up to the chasing pack to do the best they can. Any players who are participating in Russia will possibly struggle next season as well not having much rest, so anything can happen.
Reckon we’ve got at least 2-3 season s of rebuilding and and bedding in before we can judge what’s happening at Arsenal. We’ve basically changed the whole set up from top to bottom, which was badly needed, but it will take time to see if it’s working. Lol at these niggaz above all trying to slate our signings. First thing needed at Arsenal was defensive reinforcements. That alone should make an immediate difference. Doesn’t need to be an Mbappe type marquee signing, we just need some grafters to do the dirty work
Yeah I could flavor my french fries for a week with all the saltiness on here. We've gone out with clear targets in mind, and bearing in mind our limitations at this point, we have identified key targets and signed them. That alone tells you that there's a plan in place and there's no quick fix option to this mess. We're not in a position to compete for 90 million pound signings. No guarantee they'd improve us anyway.
We could go and spend £90m on Lemar and still ship 50 goals next season. We need grafters at the back. I know it’s not fashionable buying cheap defenders, but at least we haven’t gone and spent £75m on that donkey van djik.
We've bid £15m for Grealish. Likely Villa will initially reject that offer but hopefully we can eventually get him. Become a fan of his over the past 6 or so months, watched Villa a few times this season as we've got one of our players there on loan, Grealish has always looked a cut above the rest on the pitch.
not a fan. Wasn't great in the PL before (okay he was young) and shining in the championship after disappearing from there the year before isn't any great shakes, ****ing the likes of jonjo shelvy and anthony knockaert were standout players in that league.
He was still a teenager when Villa were lost in the Prem weren't he? Championship is ripe with talent at the moment, mate, probably strongest it's been in terms of the standard of inidividual quality and Grealish is at the top end of that spectrum. Lost his way a bit with off-field issues a couple years back but seems to have knuckled down under Bruce.
@Tel will be even happier now that Martial's agent has come out saying that Martial wants to leave this Summer. He'll absolutely tear it up for someone under the right manager. The Jose effect in full swing.
