I said last summer I would've sold him then due to age and what we could've got for him price wise. So he has aged a year and his price is basically **** all in todays terms, brilliant. I am not overly disappointed to see him go as we would've had to replace him either now or next year anyway, but we have to sign a replacement, and some other attacking options which I don't really see happening and if we are doing our usual sell to buy Saints Way then £15m will not get us a lot.

 

It's all negative because the board have been utterly ****ing incompetent for years now. Perhaps you could enlighten us what the positives are?

 

The release clause must be some weirdly worded one otherwise someone would've just matched it as soon as he signed the deal. As inconsistent as Tadic is a lot of teams would have him for £15m.

 

This is another reason I'm having a hard time believing it. If there was a £15m release clause surely it would have been matched by now? Hammers were interested at some point weren't they? They certainly would have stumped that up.

 

We’re still in the Premier League. Not something many were expecting a few months ago. Looks like Bertie and Gabbi are staying. Not something we were expecting a few months ago. Some talented youngsters itching to break into the first team. I’m sure I’ll get depressed about it all at some point in the season (probably December looking at the fixtures) but if you can’t get upbeat before the season has even started....

 

I'll be up for it once the season comes around (focusing on England for now)but that doesn't change the fact that the incompetence around the club is staggering, and I will continue to call them out as I see fit. Note on this I have repeatedly said 'if' as even I am struggling to imagine them being that ****ing stupid.

Too early to say that Bertrand is definitely staying imo, and whether staying up is a positive or not is down to each individual person

 

I dunno, as little as I know about football contracts and how they work it wouldn't surprise me if there were clauses like "after 2 years if we haven't done blah blah and a team who has done blah blah then you can leave if they offer X" were included.

If he is to go to Ajax I really hope we somehow manage to build a good relationship with them and try and sign basically their entire team, probably won't though and Les will piss them off by sending Krueger for a chat.

I saw that reported. This the point when reality should bite the board. Maybe it's a 'winning personality,' good for the dressing room thing?

 

My Serbian mates have been saying Tadic is off since Christmas but I don't listen to rumours I don't like! (obviously clears the way for Albanian Kosovar Shaqiri + Jack Wilshere)

 

Swapping Tadic for Shaqiri would be pointless imo.

Similar players but if we get £15m for Tadic and Shaqiri has £12m release clause then we make a profit, Shaqiri is 3 years younger aswell so can sell him when he gets close to 30 in 3 years time and probably get £12m back. I can see why it would appeal to the board. They would be relaxed and calm about the situation until Shaqiri goes and joins Cardiff because they offered more wages than us.

 

Absolutely ridiculous if true.

A team devoid of attacking quality, that barely scores, and we sell our only creative player for a pittance.

 

I normally find your Angry Old Man act mildly amusing, but if we sell Dusan I will share your despair, and it won't be an act.

 

He, more than any other player in that squad, is the reason we will be playing PL football next season.

 

Some players won't sign for a club unless there is a release clause. I hardly imagine it was Saints offering it to him/his agent.

 

Yeh, I'm sure that's true. Still, we should be doing whatever it takes to keep him now, clause or no clause.

Have we still not learned what happens if you KEEP SELLING YOUR BEST PLAYERS EVERY SUMMER, FFS?
