Best time of the season to make a few hundred quid lol. http://www.oddschecker.com/motor-sport/formula-one/italian-grand-prix/winner Think I might put £5 on each to see if it happens, though podium finishes are looking good for Mercedes.
I have to say, that is well worth a bet Silver! Thanks: I may even have a go myself! I've just checked your link and I'm staggered at some of the odds being offered! Several small bets at long odds with some decent drivers could be a decent gamble! Ha! - If only I was a gambling man, I'd have made a fortune in the past I think!
All I know about Bookies is that they set odds according to the money going down; so as more money goes down, the odds usually become less favourable to the punter. An early bet almost always gets better odds; particularly at the sharper end of 'favourites'.
I don't see Mercedes having much of a straight line advantage once the others take their downforce off, and I don't think they'll have the stability of the top three through Lesmo, Ascari and Parabolica. They also suffer badly with rear tyre degradation which will be exacerbated at low downforce, and their drivers aren't as good as the Red Bull's, Ferrari's and McLaren's. I can't see them winning unfortunately. Also, where'd you get those odds from, they're 40/1 and 66/1 with Sky Bet. Massa would be my outside bet at 33/1. He's coming into a bit of form and Ferrari should be strong in Italy. They've probably focused on bespoke Monza parts more than the others with it being their home race.
Mercedes have tyre wear problems so I cannot see them winning at all. Button or Massa might be a good outside bet though.
i'd be more inclined to bet on schuey for a win than Rosberg, but as has been said already Mercedes suffer tyre problems, unless they sort that out i can't see them beating the RBR's Ferrari AND Mclaren this season until they do, their only chance is Schuey in the wet.
Mclaren seem faster than Mercedes at the moment, the straight line speed is massive, but I would not count on it for a podium place, Redbull are kings at the moment also so they are in for a shout. But maybe if it rains... I reckon the ideas that Rosberg is a better driver than Schumacher is honestly being strained at the moment, Schumacher is finding his form, with a good strategy and the slick race craft he still has at his disposal there still is a chance..
the difference between schumacher and Rosberg is the difference in where their strengths lie, Rosberg is quick on a clear track, but gets stuck following people too much, whereas Schumacher doesn't seem a s quick on a clear track but his race-craft is soo much better.
someone always agrees with my posts, the only time i got worried is when it was PMC. tbh Rosberg has never impressed me much, the question before was 'will Rosberg retire Schumacher' by the middle of next season it might be 'will Schumacher retire Rosberg'. it's a shame his qualifying was so hampered, it would've been interesting to see where he would've come had he made it to q3. Schumacher has surprised me a fair bit over the last couple of months, it was lookign liek he'd end up being Rene Arnoux mk 2, driving around near the back getting in the way.
Did you see how little wing most teams ran in spa, yet mercedes were still insanely quick in a straight line. I've just decided i might put £1 on a schumacher win.
Well worth a punt at those odds. I remember a friend of mine having a 10 quid bet on John Cleland winning both races at Donnington in the mid 90's. Can't remember the year... we used to go to a ton of BTCC races. Anyway, we scoffed as he'd not been doing too great in the Vectra at the time but he got great odds. Anyway... the bugger won both races., he walked away with a good wedge of cash and refused to buy us a beer as we'd taken the p*** out of him for backing Cleland. Good times.
Different tyres, different cars. Just because it happened last year, doesn't mean it'll happen this year. I mean, i proclaimed loudly that Adrian Sutil would win the Belgian GP, and he came 7th.
I gather that, but we are talking about a track that doesn't destroy tyres easily, history prooves that whatever car you use.
I would perfer put my money on a podium or 4th place, i dont see mercedes winning, different track same 3 teams.
