    Apart from anything else it's about perception.

    There are all sorts of vested interests in projecting this image of rugby-crazy city split down the middle and that the city defines itself like that, and for outsiders unfamiliar with our city this is the key fact they need to know about how Hull ticks.

    Vince Groak, John Godber, the Council, HDM and RH all need to keep up this falsehood, because they all have a financial or personal stake in doing so.

    And if anyone on here thinks "So what?", well imagine you're a potential buyer or investor in the football club in this impoverished, isolated city, but get put off because the impression you have gleaned from various sources is that "It's a rugby town"

    That's why it matters.

    Nothing written by the Hull Daily Mail, Vince Groak (who even I've never heard of) or John Godber, is going to make a blind bit of difference to the next owner of Hull City.

    I tend to ignore anything that relates to the City of Hull as a town.
    I see Hull as a City that likes it's sport and sporting teams whatever the sport is.

    Exactly, why an article like that after the best ten years in the clubs history ? Why not the best signings of the last ten years ? The one's that brought the most money in ? Will they follow it up with the worse signings the RL clubs have made over the last ten years or the top ten court appearances ? No chance.

    The only club in Hull that escapes criticism is Hull KR but maybe my dislike of them is clouding my judgement.

    Because there's **** all happening and they need to come out with something, they're getting to the bottom of the barrel.
