I Don't think anyone is going to argue with this. So let's close the thread for a week. We could just do a thread on the name of a signing anyway, not likely.
interesting on Newsnow there's an article from hull live called 'Hull City set to kick start transfers with first arrival of the summer', but the link is dead.................looks like someones hit the button early at the HDM
Lichaj is pretty much done, he's due a medical tomorrow. Adelekun and Onuoha are also in talks, but aren't near being finalised. Still time for us to **** them up.
To be fair to Darnborough he might not be the best man for the job, but can you imagine trying to do deals with Ehab making all the decisions. Thankless task. I can imagine him having deals done, only for twat lugs to move the goal posts before signing it off.
Valid point. But Darnbrough had an atrocious record with Norwich and Burnley before. Ehab will just be doing more to make him look even more incompetent.
If those are serious talks, then it's worrying (well, even more worrying that it already is). Late last week Nige was basically saying that Adelekun was nowhere near the top of his list, that he might get to him but only if several other higher targets fell by the wayside. As an aside, at the time I didn't think it was particularly clever, nor respectful, to say it like that.
His rapid motormouth responses when he talks so much almost without taking a breath for what seems like an eternity before ultimately letting his brain sort of catch up with what he's just said and realising what he's said and that he may have disclosed a 'secret' or unwittingly criticised the regime or insulted a player such as Adelekun which obviously he wouldn't mean to do but then starts to amend or retract what he's just said leaving you none the wiser as to what is actually going on at the club and no wonder him and Ehab spent 5 hours talking about the Lichaj transfer which it wouldn't surprise anyone if it fell through because these things happen at Hull City but that is no ones fault it's just football and putting pen to paper takes time even though we might be looking at a number of options of which he has heard the rumours about the club being interested in Adelekun who is definitely not on our radar even though Nige has heard the rumours about him being a good footballer who we might have made a bid for but we haven't. Yet.
Well Adkins may be being misled as to who we will be getting, though as always it's easy to blame the messenger who has to deal with all the awkward questions. Ehab (or even Darnbrough I guess) can just sit back and talk to nobody from the media. I suppose when things aren't being planned well from the top you can either say the truth and be slammed or pretend everything is fine and be slammed. Those behind the decisions love it, they have their scapegoat for the season.
Probably that any demands for excessive wages or massive signing on fees beyond his worth will not wash.
When he made that comment regards Adelekun in his interview with Matt Dean, i thought its odd seeing we've been linked with the player for a while now, is he trying to tell Ehab and the invisible man, i don't want him or attempting to hide his interest in the lad from other clubs. .
