Never sees the lad who's better placed,
He's a complete and utter hogger.

Hope you're right, naturally, but I forsee

    Draw v Tunisia
    Draw v Panama
    Win v Fabrique Belgique

I think we'll do alright in these finals, most optimistic I've been for years.

20 years since the last qualified. Didn’t win a game at that one though. Their last win came days after they were beaten by a world beating Costa Rica.

    Sweden was it? 3-2 win.

The Costa Rica game was ace though.

Thinking about it, wasn't that game on at the same time as we drew with Holland 0-0?

    Yes.

My Missus was heavily pregnant & in labour. The Army Ambulance arrived (normal ones were on strike) Monday afternoon to take her (us) to the hospital & I asked if they minded hanging on for the last 15 minutes as World Cup Comedy was being played out. Too busy so I missed the end.

Daughter didn’t arrive ‘til Wednesday morning, I was knackered but it was the thought of laughing at jocks that kept me going ... & the anticipation of what I’d get me for the upcoming Fathers Day on her first ever Sunday (that was a let down). Jocks got me over the disappointment though.

Great WC 1990, probably my all time favourite.

I haven't got into the World Cup at all. Spain/Portugal aside the matches I could be bothered watching have been pretty poor. Can't even be arsed with tomorrow - such is my hate hate relationship with the professional game at the moment.

I think I'd rather go out on my bike...

To be fair I found the Mexico v Germany game really refreshing. The Mexico coach had a game plan, and that was to be extremely positive and aggressive. Get into the Germans and pile the pressure on, they were on the front foot from the off.

They got the lead then soaked up the pressure for the last 20 / 30 minutes. A good game to watch.

Loved Italia 90 - official end of the 80s in my book.

Memorex haze re Costa Rica game, but main things I remember was the Scotland fans singing 'all we are saying, is give us a goal' and Andy Roxburgh's face post match.

I didn't watch it, but good to hear the Germans lost. I haven't watched a full game yet - I think it's the Allams fault <laugh> I feel totally disengaged.
