You mean the likes of Muhren and Thijssen? 2 Players doesn't quite make half by my calculations I post on there occasionally, but even I struggle with some of the drivel that gets posted on there.. Particularly around school holidays I suppose it's a bit like your WOTB site.. Though TWTD is actually a fantastic independent site, just let down by some of the nonsense posted on the forum.
Sadly Dave not quite right. In the good old days, English teams were only allowed 3 'foreigners' per team, so nobody could flood their teams with 'imports... and I think that included the Scots and Irish as well (although I might be wrong on that point)
Not surprising JMF. He was unlikely to feature much and any fee received is a profit. That should cover most of Buendias' fee plus a reasonable savings on wages, so a bit more money to spend on new players coming in. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-watkins-bristol-city-transfer-rumour-1-5564219
So Steve Stone says - 'DanielFarke will get some of the windfall from Josh Murphy’s sale to bolster Norwich City’s squad; http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-stone-on-murphy-sale-transfer-strategy-1-5564130.
Will likely read "Naismith to continue to top up his pension at Carrow Road for the foreseeable future" Bah !
Watkins' first interview with Bristol isn't exactly complimentary of Norwich, saying the football Bristol play is more exciting and attacking than Norwich. I mean he's probably not wrong, but still.
It was obviously a frustrating season for him as he failed to adapt to DF's continental style of football. One goal against Charlton in the cup hardly speaks highly of him. Little surprise he prefers being reunited with Lee Johnson to play a pressing and long ball style again. The BBC says the fee is £1m, which is a decent profit for a player who offered little last season. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44503178 Let's hope the new players coming in to replace him and Josh will be able to get the first goal more often.
Yeah but if he was on 15k a year and 100k sign on fee and 100k agent fee plus a few appearance fees means we broke even.... but we have the money now rather than a year ago haha
Stone sums it up like this: "We are certainly looking at re-investing some of the funds from any players who depart this summer. Buendia was done a long time ago, in terms of a pre-deal. That was us planning in advance. Josh Murphy was, in my view, a very good deal and it was in line with the sale of his brother a year before. We are early in the window and there is a long time to go. I wouldn’t expect it to be anywhere near the turnover of last summer, because we have got the nucleus of a decent squad in my view. Obviously it is Stuart Webber’s view that is more important than mine in this area. However, I don’t expect there to be as many changes given we put a whole new structure in place, including a new head coach.” If Maddison goes for £20m+, it sounds like a share of the installments from that, the Pritchard deal and Josh's fee after closing the parachute gap (or the first 'installment' of that anyway). That should be enough for signing say Leitner and Ducksch (if we can) and possibly another striker on loan. The other needs would be another wide player and a RB or perhaps Reed on loan again unless Godfrey is seen as sufficient cover.
Freddie Woodman on loan from Newcastle is being mentioned this morning. Class GK. But would rather just play Mathews, and be looking for a striker.
Good. Another waste of time signing. Glad he's off the books. 1M being mentioned. Might cover some of his wages for sitting in the stands for a season.
Swansea and West Brom reportedly lining up £3mil bids for Ben Godfrey!! I really hope not, desperate to see him lining up for us next season
I agree Suffolk. These are probably mere blog rumours like the PL interest rumours last season. With Tettey's knees and Thompson's injury problems, we need Godfrey at DM and at RB. His value and his potential are worth more than £3m now, especially considering that it would take two new players to replace him.
I've just looked at TransferMarkt and they have Emi Buendia valued at £2.5m. They also list the transfer fee we paid as £1.35m. If so, that's good work by SW as at 21, he should be worth at least twice his valuation. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/emiliano-buendia/profil/spieler/321247
