Yes or Messi , but I don't think any realistic target would affect ST numbers. If things are all sorted, I could see the club picking a good day for an announcement, but other than that, this is a business not a computer game.

 

We have our eye on a young midfielder from the Gibraltar national side, if we can tempt him away from his postal route.

 

No reason for any of us to be shocked or surprised at the board's lack of action these days, unfortunately.

 

The board don’t have the time to look for potential signings, they are too busy trying to maximise the value of Sofiane in €uros, calculating the exchange rate and working out their sales bonuses!

 

The board have done very little to earn any praise recently, but is there anyone else out there who thinks their hands are tied.
For me, this all comes down to Gao. What he wants to put in, and what he can put in.
Bashing the board will be fun for people, for a while, but surely as we delve further into the window its going to be more apparent that this is not Les and co wanting to do nothing. That, after all would be madness. We are in the midst of change, we don't know how much we are spending or gambling, that's the harsh truth of the matter.

 

The amount of players at the WC are a tiny amount in terms of the playing pool in the world etc. The club don't sit back for 4 weeks and watch the WC. Tadic, Pelle and Mane were all signed in a WC year and none of them went to the tournament.

Heard a rumour Gao intends to pay off his loans through our premier league income before starting to invest any cash. Could be a barren 5 years or so if that is true...

 

That’s fairly straight forward and what I’d expect. The club has always wanted to be sustainable and the sale was never intended to be to someone who invest lots of money (to my understanding). I’d expect the owner to use some of the Premier League money to pay off any loans used to buy the club, but this doesn’t mean we won’t spend any money, just means the owner might. It out anymore in. How much they pay off would tell us more.

That’s not a bad nor a good thing and it’s not much of a change.

 

The downsides are twofold. One, to generate enough profit to pay off a large portion of a 200m loan in five years, we're going to have the tightest belts in the PL, and it's going to make it far more likely that we'll get relegated. Two, it lays bare the likelihood that we're in major financial peril if we do go down.

He was so unlucky to get injured in his first game for us, and didn’t get much game time once he’d recovered. Very sad to see him leave, a proper footballer.

 

But sadly we were told we were being sold to generate investment. We have actually got slightly less money than we did before...

 

That’s the trouble in believing what you’re told by your football club.

 

I still think this is largely a scheme to move money out of China as it's main motive and why the deal was so rushed at the end with the crackdown. To buy foreign assets rather than directly profit.

Still, unless you're an expert at big buisness finance in China nobody really knows.

 

So technically he can’t actually put any of his own money now into the team?
