'Alan Pardew is hoping to be battling on up to FOUR fronts...'

    The chronicle suggests:

    1. Davide Santon
    2. Modibo Maiga
    3. Petr Bolek

But it doenst mention the fourth player? Who do we think it could be? A big name or unknown player?

The article does also hint at the injury to Williamson which made me think it could be a CB (Situ) but it doesnt seem it would be hard to tie him up or 'battle' as the Ryder puts it.

    Whats everyones thoughts?

Probably got it right (Situ as the 4th). I'd be happy with that.

A few people saying there's legs in the Muntari rumour, he may actually work well, him and Tiote holding to free up Cabaye in the centre of the park, as well as covering when Tiote gets suspended.

Thing is his contract it unprotected at Lens so we could just offer it and he would accept (terms being acceptable of course). Doesnt seem much of a battle.

Would take kranjcar straight away but spurs results suggest they need all their players?

Also we could sign Situ outside of the transfer window if he's a free agent. Maybe there's one more surprise yet.

Well, Pardew said he'd replace anyone we lost, and we lost Joey Barton. Another midfielder perhaps? I thought we'd already got Situ, according to NUFC.com the other day we did.

Maybe he's not as high profile as we thought (first team), we really should have 4 centre backs.

this may sound like a long shot but ill say it, i think berbatov may be a good bet.

we were good odds to get him in this window and now, if Welbecks injury is as bad as first thought would be 4th choice striker

he is a boyhood supporter of Newcastle and Fergie may sell him because he doesnt fit with there bill of player and i know he doesnt fit with our new young guns, but i wouldnt be suprised as there probably panicking about signings

id love to have him here hed be someone our young strikers could learn from, only wages would be the problem it all depends what he wants football or money...

I was thinking this earlier. Wondered if I was crazy but then realised that, amongst many other things, his wages will be far too high.

Don't know why but I really think we are going to be the talk of deadline day.

yea the wages would be the main problem, but he will have earned a ot of savings while at man u, so maybe he will settle for a wage cut to play for his favourite team!
Wishful thinking from my part i think

I won't be too happy if we get Santon and not a left back as I think he is right footed. Am I right?? Hopefully we will bag Pieters aswell. Situ, Maiga would also be nice :)
