Wasn't Man Utd away on a Friday or did I just make that up. EDIT: I made it up it was a Saturday evening

Friendlies are all a waste of money IMO, unless we're going to be showing off a load of new signings. So as I say a waste of money.
Man Utd away was on a Friday night 2 seasons ago. So you're not going mad. Just losing track of time.
Part of it is that the big clubs are more likely to play midweek fixtures, and thus generally won't get programmed on Mondays. The big clubs did play a few (Man City played two league and one cup match on random Mondays), but not many for that reason.
But...but...it will be sunny, the first cuckoo for the football season....and Valium not required. Perfect.
Just looking through (pessimistically because of last season) at the run ins of the teams who may be in trouble. Cardiff have a fairly tough opening - after their first three they have Arsenal, Chelsea and City in a row, and they then end their last seven with Chelsea, City, Liverpool and United (last game). Fulham have Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool and City in March but their last six are okay. Wolves have an okay set, but are finishing at Liverpool. I think wolves could be a good side this year though. Hudds finish with spurs, Watford, Liverpool, United and us. Brighton finish with arsenal and city. Bournemouth like is have a tough December - city Liverpool spurs United. Not a bad finish though. Burnley’s last four are Chelsea, city, Everton and arsenal. Leicester finish with arsenal city and Chelsea. Newcastle have spurs Chelsea city and arsenal in their first five. I think Cardiff, Huddersfield and Watford might go down.
Err, didn't somebody (who shall remain nameless)point out that friendlies are meaningless (and a rip off), a waste of time etc. Surely, these will both come into their category specified too
