    Did anyone see the programme about Argentina 1978 on BBC Scotland on Wednesday; some great interviews with the supporters who traveled to South America. I sort of knew one of the guys. At the end when one of the 'boys' introduced his 'Argentine' wife with the Scottish accent it brought tears to my eyes.

    If I am not mistaken Peru were the South American champions at the time. The main thing I learned from the show was that Ally McLeod did not bother to 'see' any of the three countries in Scotland's group.

    Great memories, great self deprecation and a great laugh!

    Although the programme was an embarrassment to 'our' self promotion and misplaced belief it should have been broadcast throughout the UK as it did outline how supporters should behave and how to endear yourselves to a populace on the other side of the world.

    Loved it; and of course there was and will always be 'wee Erchie'.

    Not long to go!
