    The stats don't lie

The best finisher in the world actually is actually quite far down when it comes to chances converted. Discuss

Well, all the guys above him on the list being vastly superior in skill and technique could have something to do with it.

Kane is so average that Bobby has spent the last 2 years desperately trying to flog him off on our behalf <laugh>

Another pot shot at Kane because he's average, init.

I think he's a brilliant striker and he's got great all round play and he bangs them in.

However i can't argue with stats so i was wondering whether there was a plausible explanation for this mate.....

Gutted we have Kane to be honest. Wish we had the £70m Morata instead.

Kane is confident to shoot from all over, as this graphic shows. Ronnie's stats will be similar I'd imagine.

Obviously Ronnie is better though, cos he can talk without dribbling all over his tshirt.

What are they defining as a chance and why has Kane had more than anyone else by a mile? Is it just shots?

yes it is chances = shots (dunno what the definition of shot is, but i labelled shot as chance) and yes he's had miles more than anyone else

So the two top scorers had more shots than anyone else, then? That's what this thread's about?

top scorer was pretty clinical at finishing though. Came 4th in the conversion rates (from a randomly pulled group of top 6 teams)

Half the list have spent time on the sidelines... Lukaku would have probably been roughly around the same playing in a boring Mourinho team, so let's face it the stats don't say he's ****. He is a greedy bastard though, and not as good as Salah... Would anybody have disputed that before the stats? No...

It does tell me that everyone talking about Sterling being ****e at finishing (very true, he has so little composure I'd be surprised if he doesn't cum when he feels a draft), need to have a look at Alli's stats!

Undermines your point when you look one player down, though. Sterling clinical?
I think that a lot of the criticism around him is excessive and unnecessary, but he's definitely not that.

    Quality of chances isn't considered.
Jamie Vardy would be second on this list and I think that strikers' conversion rates benefit from regular counter-attacks.
City having so many players on there is probably due to having so much creativity, though.
It'd be interesting to see how many of each player's goals were on counters.

The myth that is Harold the spitter is laid waste. Beaten easily by a Chelsea reject I will be surprised if he gets anywhere near 20 league goals next season.
